I'm 67, growing up my Dad had three different Springer Spaniels during my childhood. We pheasant hunted mostly in Illinios but did go out to Atlantic Iowa many times as my Dad had a friend there. Your Springer works great, you did a fine job with him. thanks for bringing back some great memories growing up.

I like how that dog is checking back and hunting for the gun and not himself. He "Gets It".

I’ve never seen a Springer with their tail. Is it out of Canada? My daughter’s boyfriend just got an Australian Shepherd out of Canada with tail and dew claws. They don’t doc tails or remove claws up there…

He’s from an Outfitter in Nebraska, it was my decision to leave the tail when asked/ordered. Sire is from South Dakota, Dam is from Nebraska. Both Mom @ Dad weren’t docked and i loved the look.

Correct,no dogs in Australia have docked tails,or clipped ears.Unless it is for medical reasons,which does happen on occasions with damaged tails.Love the Springers,we are on our second.🙂

What do you do to keep your dog from getting full of cockleburs?
@westerniowaoutdoors23532 ай бұрын
Nothing. I used to use a vest on him, but more times than not it wouldn’t stay on and i ended up carrying it back to the truck with me. Now its just and old fashioned brush after each hunt. Sometimes it sucks but it works best for us. The worst is the MUD/WATER he always seems to find. Thanks for tuning in!

I shave my springers down to a quarter inch. It really helps and they seem to like it also.

Are you towards northwest Iowa? I go to school there and love hunting pheasants there
