Wouldn't it have been more interesting if Brittany Snow had been the real killer? Yeah, it's too late in this movie to put that plot into motion, but read me out. The girl either had a psychotic break or is a total sociopath and slaughtered her family. The "crazy guy" comes across the murder scene and winds up being arrested for the murders because . . . eh, pick your motive (affair with Mom, Brittany's teacher who folks thought was sleeping with her, neighbor with questionable past). He breaks out on prom night and tries to get her to confess, but she's killing her friends and classmates (cheating boyfriend, best friend he cheated with, catty girls, etc.) while the police try to protect everyone from the crazy guy.

A while back i tried to do a "fan" edit of this film to make it watchable as an experiment. I stripped out most of the soundtrack and added stuff from the silent hill game OST, re-cut nearly every scene to make it scarier and and cut out the idiot cop subplot and all the irritating crap. After i had cut out everything stupid and dreadful, the new running time was just under 35mins. i'm not joking. What a waste of Brittany Snow who is actually a pretty good actress with the right script.

MagnetoDorito Jason had tacked on motives, a better substitute would be early Michael Myers (pre curse of thorn and other tacked on motives). In short, it’s usually scarier if you don’t fully understand the killer’s motivations because that makes him/her a lot more mysterious and unpredictable, which makes any pursuit of the main characters a lot more tense and frightening.

If Brittany Snow actually has feelings for the crazy guy and they have an affair. Then her mom finds out and wants to end things with him but she doesn't want to. So she manipulates the crazy guy into killing her family and she pretends that she doesn't know anything about it.

I love this review the thumbnail gets me everytime But to be honest I actually like the killer he was probably the most interesting character in the whole movie. At least he was smart enough to disguise himself.
@paulman3434011 ай бұрын
Honestly Fenton (The Killer) was only smart because the writers made sure EVERYONE ELSE was dumb simply to give him an advantage! I had fun making scenario's at certain points of the movie where Fenton was caught if not for the plot! Seriously his "disguise" did have SOME merit till those who know him got a look at him! Frankly I expected them to think faster on identifying him then the officers looking for him who'd have to get a close look to ID him (And even then I don't think they'd let EVERYONE out so easily, I'm sure every MALE fitting his description as in Skin Tone/EtC would be stopped to get a clear check!) But then the writers did that ANNOYING thing where they give the Killer "Future Sight/Mind Reading" where they KNOW they've been ID without clear evidence on THEIR end to even KNOW IT (The worse was one movie I saw where a person a good distance ID the character, was not SEEN or detected by them! Yet they pull a Jason and "teleported/Jump Cut" to them before they could report it in! Frankly feels like writers want some SUSPENCE like "Oh they almost got caught" but don't direct it well enough that silly shit like that happens instead of directing it where they LOGICALLY realized they were made! But then Fenton was killing SO many people, I'm surprised he was made SOONER!) Frankly the only thing I REALLY hate at the end is he DIED! As I'd LOVE for him to be taken in alive to wonder what idiot braindead Jury will get him on Insanity TWICE now that the body count is larger, more vicious to "they didn't need to DIE" referring to the Staff at the Hotel, and add cops to the mix and I'd be surprised they don't make a SPECIAL EXCEPTION to get him on the Chair SOONER!
