@@lordderban7942 I work with these birds on a regular basis....and would say the opposite is true. Even the most aggressive cockatoo at the rescue where I volunteer has never made any deliberate effort to harm anybody. These birds are not dangerous. sure, they have capacity to bite, but they would rather fly away than bite. It all depends on the individual bird..... Please dont generalize by species since that is the cause of many complications parrot owners face. Its all about the individual bird, not what species it belongs to. I'm not trying to be rude or contradictory, just fixing a common misconception. It is still correct to handle any large parrot with care, but there is no need to be afraid.

I was just thinking about how long these sweet birds can live, (example 80 years) and that they must have at least two different generations of people to care for them. I also was thinking about how sad it must be when bird or the person passes away.

I have watched the beginning of this video so many times! He is so adorable...so excited Mommy's back and the way he says "showerrrr". And he says "you're back". So cute! I could just squeeze him. He must know Mom takes a shower when she gets back. And that little foot that keeps going up, like he wants to step up, but no one is offering him their arm or hand yet. Oh, and the noise he makes when he has to "go poop". So smart! How did you train him to do this?

I have all ways thought these birds did not do well in a home with only 1 bird. Seen many birds pluck out their feathers from boredom. They. Are highly intelligent and need stimulation . However. When he keeps going towards the back of your head, it makes me wonder if he's thinking about "love" if you know what I mean! I heard that birds can get so attached they start to think of their humans as a mate. Is that true? And has anyone ever had problems with this? I adore parrots of all sizes, but these umbrella cockatoos are my favourites I think. He's so gorgeous! 🤗
