From the limited amount of what I know of Hinduism the temples seem to acknowledge two forces at work in the Universe that of Creation and destruction. Most people admire the creative forces and do not dwell on the destructive forces at work. But in Hinduism there is the acknowledgement that both forces have a part to play in the ever changing nature of the Universe. Creation depends on destruction and vice versa. This temple is unique in that it seems to dwell on the dark issues surrounding man. It sees dark elements in mankind. Other temples dwell on Creation and show humans making love in many positions. I think most temples show both elements in them. There are both beauty and darkness within man and within the Universe. I have always tried to think in positive ways but sometimes darkness creeps in to remind me of the destructive forces within. I try to live by reason and passion if the latter is not destructive. Thank you for making your readers and viewers think.

Good point, however I disagree about other religions focusing on the creative. Both Christians and Muslims worship death in the form of the cross on which Christ died, and the tombs of saints in masjids. Both bury their dead and consider walking in a cemetery as normal. Traditionally, hindu women don't attend cremation ceremonies (changing nowadays), and people don't know death rites till they need to learn due to death of a parent or other close relative. No hindu will go near a crematorium (hard to maintain in metro cities nowadays) unnecessarily.

We believe that once the person dies, he has another new life, for that we do the procedures what we believe, and after cremation it's only body for us, which hasn't soul, so after all the procedures done for 15 days then the body has nothing, that is why hindus doesn't go to crematorium. The two riders on a single horse is familiar to western iconography. The Knights Templar used this visual to advertise their vow of poverty during the Crusades. Praveen brother, I could figure out some of points here. The man cutting his head is RAVANA. Ravana offered his heads cut by his own hands to Shiva, also man below his leg in praying position is SHANI, as Ravana put all of nine grahas in prison but Shani changed its position so everytime Ravana did put Shani's position below its leg. So some of locals might be worshipping lord Shani there.. Also you mentioned about man cutting his intestines, same is also giving referance to Ravana, becuase Ravana was also a musician, a Veena player.For Shiva he created Veena from his intestines (naadis- sometimes called as tendons) and played it, all of these information is leading towards Ravana. Thank you for the update, Praveen..!! The temple looks like it was dedicated to Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Parvati. The intestine scene reminds me of that time when Ravana used his own intestines as musical instrument (strings) and the cutting head statue reminds me of that time when Ravana cut 8 of his heads to show his dedication toward Lord Shiva. The statue seems to show Ravana ready to cut his last head and the tied lady nearby appears to be Sati. Thank you again, Praveen for great updates..!!

It's good to see what these things mean and can only trace the path through out the world temples. They where expressing history and records. Thus, a special building and magical devices can induce the host of heaven; similarly, I would assume, the Temple of Solomon and the service performed there were thought of as able to attract the Shekinah to this place. Let us explore the locus of the revelation of the Shekinah “between the two Cherubim”. It was believed that their perfect state of union, even sexual union (combined) is a function of performing the will of God; otherwise, they will be parted. I assume, however, that only when their union is induced by human activity can the Shekinah descend upon the Cherubim, just as it does with a worthy husband and wife. Accordingly, in order to restore the dwelling of the Shekinah, not only is a certain structure required but also a certain kind of human act - the rituals of Hebrew/Judaism, which alone are able to sustain the dynamic bond between God and Man. The descent of the Shekinah is regarded by Nahtmanides (Rabbi Moses Ben Nahman Girondi 1194/1270), as “fulfilling a divine rather than a human need”. MY COMMENTS ON THIS: First off, the Shekinah was brought down by Moses and approximately 600,000 others (Hebrews and mixed multitudes) before the 10 Commandments were given. The Shekhina left when turmoil and division started among the people. The Zohar says that when the Shekhina returns, it will be when God Himself brings her back. Temples and Buildings of certain materials, geometric (patterns) structures and grid locations are conducive, synergetic, accommodating and facilitating to certain forces on Earth and the Universe. Timing is also of paramount importance in contacting various beings from other dimensions or realms. Although the Hebrews (in the Torah) were told not to observe auspicious times, however even the Sabbath is an auspicious time and it was calculated from the solar and lunar cycles. There are many other time periods that the Hebrews were told to practice their religion, though the Zohar explains all of this in perspective and good light. (Oracles), Pentacles, Seals, Ephods, Breast Plates, the Ark, Staff’s, the Urim and Thummim, Talismans and the like are tools of the work. Even the clothing that the ancient priests wore was designed to connect with the energy/power from above. For example, among the Hebrews it was forbidden for the common people to wear a mixture of cotton and wool, as that was for the Priests only. Black Wool is a negative, (South) polarity. The proper mixing of material and color design creates enormous spiritual energy and when accompanied with the correct note/sound, rhythm, Cantor and words (synchronized and congruent) that are lawful, it can be enough directed power to transcend time-and-space and connect with other worlds or dimensions. Let us remember Nimrod and the Tower of Babel, that was brought down and the unity and languages of mankind was confounded. Mankind has traditionally (religious or secular) sought after power (without adhering to God’s laws and accountability or responsibility) since time began and today, it is no different. If power was intended and used for Righteousness, then it would be a good thing, but so far what I see, is the abuse of power here on Earth. Therefore, I extrapolate that most of Mankind will once again be reduced in power in the near future but the real, true spiritual ones’ will go-up, so to speak. Really, the Temple of Solomon had all of the structure and paraphernalia in place for the evocation of angels, spirits and beings from many places and King Solomon did these things. I think the creatures aren't really real in the sense theres "vampires". I believe that in the ancient days they had technology, and with some technology, there's certain chemicals or metals; like uranium or plutonium etc. What we know now is that those things are viscously deadly, especially the chemicals... It is a pretty hoysala temple built by very rich merchant. The layout of temple housing 4 dirties placed right opposite to each other forming a + sign & all dieties looking at the center of temple is very uncommon compared to other temples where usually placement of dieties is usually placed side by side or one next to other, never one facing another except the vehicles of dieties like basava in front of linga or a lion facing Chamundi etc. It could have been the temple was built for a very specific ritual for curing possessed people given the missing linga was vaidyanatheshwara worshipped for curing diseases. Also told that temple had a Brahma statue in the middle of the + sign formed by 4 dieties placement. The temple was a very rich one with idols embedded with precious stones and gold ornaments which explains the selective destruction of idols by thieves. People there believe the merchant who built it by spending all his riches committed suicide in the water right next to temple as he was cursed by goddess for something wrong he did from then on people stopped visiting the temple for worship as they thought the temple was haunted and thieves took advantage of it. People still believe there is hidden treasure in the temple the merchant/builder has hidden so some one must be still trying to get it.

Perhaps this is a temple for people who follow vamapada, probably to attain siddhi by either sacrificing themselves or by conducting terrible rituals, unacceptable to the commons. I can't deny back that when these carvings where done. Technology and skills of the said stonemason where beyond the quality and depiction that can be seen in today's, another interesting point is the quality and longevity of the statues is beyond impressive. The life like impressions?? Of theses deities are almost too life like..and the idea that they can be moved by anyone is preposterous the thought of them moving on their own has been a theory from some villagers in some of the villages around the world where said statues of deities mysteriously move..? I don't know but the only thing that makes sense is the concept of Medusa's her said mythological powers?? (Not her doing per say lol) but the idea of the technology being available back then isnt too crazy we just haven't discovered it maybe ...as crazy as it sounds 🤷 🤔 🤯 I can't shake it I have travelled and seen these said craft men's work and I struggle to understand why it all stopped why after a certain period in time the quality of craving potential and ability dropped instead of evolving 🤔 it seems to me like they got sloppy, amateurish in comparison. What happened? did the only stonemason's with that ability all die at the same time globally so it is all over?? Those carvings were destroyed, wasn't there an invasion of westerners in the 1800s? I just watched a program on this subject and it spoke about ancient text as well. Makes me curious as to why? I was going to ask if any meridian lines intersect where this temple is built. As a business man during that time would he have had access to this knowledge? Is there any priest associated with him that could have guided him or influenced his creation of this temple? So much of it is lost, which is a shame, so the story it is trying to tell is obscured. I wonder if the pieces removed have been sold on the black market. I hope they are found, returned, and the temple restored.

Mostly temples were destroyed by islamic conquerers and kings as they don't want other religions monument to present. Just like in Egypt only pyramid survived here also only string temples survived. They have destroyed lot and biggest destruction is nalanda University where the old books burner for around 4 months. Imagine the amount of knowledge it had contained.

Doddagaddavalli, its a place where this temple is located and its very near to my home town 'Hassan, Karnataka'. I have been there couple of times, but never noticed such minute and unique details as explained by Praveen Mohan. This temple belongs to Keerthimukha. One who was born from Shiva hair and the only demon who is above all gods. He ate himself up on the order of Shiva, that's why we are able to see him puncturing him with sword and cutting his head.

Excellent piece of information #Praveen Mohan# sir. This temple is situated in a small village in Hassan District named Gaddavalli, 2 to 3 km from Halebeedu temple. though we saw all these carvings we were not able to analyse and there were no guides as well. we had visited this temple just a few weeks before the murti was vandalized. Temple is well maintained, but unfortunately this temple is in the remotest place and no security arrangements have been done. Thank you so much for your valuable inputs 🙏

A chatuskuta temple, it has four sanctums for Lakshmi, Kali, Bhuthanatha and Vishnu. So Praveen’s right it’s shiva the deity and the statues in place of usual dwara palakas could be stories from puranas.. seems ppl were looking for treasure under the deity hence it was broken down

This temple in a small village gives an eerie feeling, people have some hidden secrets which make it even more scary. Our ancients certainly are scientifically and mystically advanced. Chinnamasta is a fiery goddess who holds heads of people. People might have destroyed her statue fearing for similar punishments. All carvings might have had valuable metals and ornaments probable reason for their defacement. This temple is an example for Occult in Sanathana Dharma. I would say " Perfect Occult Temple".

Hi... The structure you are telling about the missing lingam ie., the base is not to install a lingam but any deities idol are installed on that base and it is called paani peeta, so that when they bath the idol water flows easily. The flowing part should face North or east. When it comes to the architecture of the temple it is fully based on tantra and black magic, Atharvana veda. If any aghori Or tantrika is taken to this temple he will easily explain the idols here.

Even watching this temple in your video a sense of fear come, the temple was made for tantric activities. Those who are destroying is getting effected by energies from this temple, these goddess are made for purpose, once there creators attain samadhi they roam and Waiting for another, Anantha sadhana is all about them, the first rule of sadhna is super control of emotions and intellectual. Once started these goddess are coming to the practitioner and he will start seeing and hearing things. Hi Praveen, you are an inspiration to me, iam also exploring the ancient temples after watching your videos. Now come to this temple, i don't know who built this temple but as my knowledge, this temple might has been used for two things one is hidding the huge treasure and to safe guard the treasure and panic the people not to enter into they put the maha kalli temple, also the sculptures carved on the walls indicate the hardwork and balli (self scarifying ) to please the goddess. Regarding the destroyed cravings on walls, niggt be there would be a thanthricks in the early period destroyed because to hide the process of pleasing the goddess or the kings found this is unsafe act as it resemble the cruel self balli and more people attract to it. This is my only notice and i may be wrong also. Thank you is just a word for your videos, one small suggestion is please give the full details of the temple location so that many more visit the temples to know the greatness of our culture. One thing that seems odd to me is that the lathe-turned columns each differ significantly in profile (unlike Roman columns, for example). I've noticed this before in some of Praveen's other videos. To me, they almost look like waveforms of sound recordings. I wonder if each column encodes some kind of information and each one could be similar to a page in a book (or a track on a CD). Perhaps rubbing a stylus or other tool along the edge would play some sort of recorded sound. This might be similar to an "Edison wax cylinder" which was essentially an early form of the vinyl record.

That's a cool theory I'd like to further investigate. There's another temple recently discovered to have individually rotating stone pillars. The officials cemented them to prevent structural collapse from an influx of archeologists/locals turning them. What if they're a combination to unlock another chamber?

I'm from Karnataka, the reason for destroying is not actually destroying that temple but some people joining hands with authority to search for 'treasure' in that..... The actual purpose of that temple built by business person is not exactly to or not only to worship but to hide his entire wealth... So many of the carvings are hinting most clues that only intelligent people can understand... Some are erasing the details so negative people should not find treasure and some are cutting down idols in search of treasure..... Only God knows wat happens in the end..!

Kudos for Praveen and his team for another incisive on ancient temples where most of the common people won't put any attention to these minute details. Reason why they were destroyed: Could it be possible that this temple has idols which indicate Vama-Acharas/black-magic/occult practices and some persons (could be kings, or society in general) who oppose these practices could have deleted as censoring process. Another too far fetching idea on why they could have destructed: Around Great Sage Ramanuja's time when Hoyasala kings converted from Jainism to Santana Dharma. May be Ramanuja & his disciples might not want general people know about these Vama-Acharas. BTW where is this temple in Karnataka -- so that we will keep in our TODO visiting list?
