I was in the crowd when this happened and the energy and hype in the room was insane. The crowd was going nuts and cheering for Phi through the entire set, and it only got louder and more rambunctious by the end. People were wandering over from other games to see what all the commotion was about. He may not have won the whole tournament the next day, but on that Friday, Phi was #1. Congrats dude, I hope to see you do even better in future tourneys.

I also found out from a very good Tekken player here in Australia that at BAM Kwiss said that Chand_NY was bad at Tekken. And, the only reason he beat Book was because Book played bad. 4:13 i completely disagree with planetmedusa. Dash blocking is an incredibly powerful tool! And, PHIDX was definitely not doing it with out reason. If you have one of the best whiff punish tools in the game dash blocking and counting the dashes you do to test their timing before they decide to interupt allows you see when you can whiff punish on offence. If they jab on three dashes. Dash three times and if they jab go for high crush low. If they hop kick or fuzzy to beat the low then counter hit mid or just block (depending on character). It also means you can align for steppers. It also shows your opponent you have a big set of balls.

I'm the one who taught phidx to dash cancel instead of kbdc all the time he was reluctant as well at the time, but seeing him doing it now makes me prid, lol. what's funny is that very few pro players use it, and that's what seperate them at the highest level.

@@samagatsu1 Man good on you! I learnt it by playing Bryan and wow it it a powerful tool. But, it's really hard to practice because online encourages you not to do it because of the latency issues and you get clipped all the time when you know you were holding back.

💯 i feel you on this one lol i used to main Bryan as well from t5 to t7 and definitely switch to dragunov last year less headach omg , so you know without dash cancel blocking or taunt dash cancel it's extremely difficult to make a good player wiff it's a staple.

I am a bid disappointing by the majority of the tekken community. This moment once again, like with super akouma in lyon , was not treated as a moment, where a player finally got rewarded for spending literal years with their character and honing him to almost perfection. Instead it was treated as „noctis is broken, we always knew that. 22 , uf 2 , the oki. Character carries hard, we alwas knew that.“ in complete denial of the fact thaz EVERY single pro player said „noctis ? Big weaknesses doesnt have a dick jab, doesnt have a generic d4 , cant deal that well with pressure. Not the best lows, db 3 payoff is super small in a game were you lose 50% off of one hopkick, d2 is good, but risky“ also not a single one of the guys who said „noctis dumb“ after this , acknowledged the OTHER dlc character on screen. I despise this community sometimes.
