Oh, how I feel this song by Phil Collins. It was 1991, when I first met my true love. We were both 25 years old. She was a teacher, looking to return to school to get her Masters in Theater and I was working as an engineering tech. at a research center. After dating for three months, I let her slip through my hands, when she went away to graduate school. I knew she was the one, but I was taking my time and didn’t want to rush things. We lost contact and I thought about her ever since. In 2011 we found each other and ironically, we both were going through a divorce. We rekindled what we had in 1991 and we have not skipped a beat. We got married in 2017 and life has been grand, thanks Phil for the timeless music and the memories!

Without seeing at this post I would not know Phil Collins he has been rumoured to have died, his health and personal troubles … I remember I used to play Phil’s LD in the library whenever I got bored, that was the best entertainment I had at the campus. I love his songs, the moods of his songs and every word chosen in the lyrics … Seems like he was touring recently … but still what I read about him made me feel sad, Phil is definitely a legendary singer.

My parents were huge fans of Phil Collins back in the late 80s and had most of his albums on cassette tape. I was only around 6 to 7 years old at the time but always hearing Phil Collins whenever they played his songs on the radio had quite an impact on me. I've never forgotten his music. This song in particular always grabbed my attention. Of course at my age at the time I didn't really understand its meaning, or that of any song for that matter, lol! But hearing it now at 40 years old, it really has an even more profound impact on me now.

Sad knowing no matter what you'll never get one more night with someone you love when they're gone forever. Spend time with your loved ones while you have a chance because that one night is something you'll do anything for when they're gone so show them you love them while they'rere still around

I love your comments however I do not use the number of views as there are way too many version of this magnificent song on KZbin. :) Rather says how wonderful it is for a song that was released way back in 1985.

Phil Collins in my opinion is one of the most underrated singer/songwriters of all time! Just about every song he has ever recorded during his solo career is a classic and sadly he doesn't get the recognition he deserves!!! The man is a genius, pure and simple?

One more night One more night I've been trying ooh so long to let you know Let you know how I feel And if I stumble if I fall, just help me back So I can make you see Please give me one more night Give me one more night One more night 'cause I can't wait forever Give me just one more night, oh just one more night Oh one more night 'cause I can't wait forever I've been sitting here so long Wasting time, just staring at the phone And I was wondering should I call you Then I thought, maybe you're not alone Please give me one more night, give me just one more night Oh one more night, 'cause I can't wait forever Please give me one more night, oh just one more night Oh just one more night, 'cause I can't wait forever Give me one more night, give me just one more night Oh one more night, 'cause I can't wait forever Like a river to the sea I will always be with you And if you sail away I will follow you Give me one more night, give me just one more night Oh one more night, 'cause I can't wait forever I know there'll never be a time you'll ever feel the same And I know it's only words But if you change your mind you know that I'll be here And maybe we both can learn Give me just one more night, give me just one more night Oh one more night, 'cause I can't wait forever Give me just one more night, give me just one more night Oh one more night, 'cause I can't wait forever

Phil Collins is such an incredibly talented musician and song writer. He has written the story of our youth for many of us who were teens in the 80's. It's a travesty that he is not in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. He's in as a member of Genesis, but absolutely should be there as a solo artist! This masterpiece destroys any rap BS that gets recognized by RnRHOF!
