In a fight that was destined to give the 205-pound division a top contender, both Lyoto Machida and Phil Davis clearly knew the ramifications of their co-main event bout at UFC 163.
Both men had a lot to lose, so maybe it should have been no surprise each man started out tentative. Still, a lot of the match featured little more than fancy footwork and shadow boxing. After the opening round, each man picked up the pace and connected with varying strikes. In the end, Davis was awarded a surprising victory via decision Saturday night at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Davis' only significant advantage was ground and pound following take-downs in the last minute of rounds one and two. While ESPN scored the fight for Davis, 13 selected UFC affiliate media outlets scored the fight in favor of Machida.
An SP Nation fan post stated, "Some MMA commentators and bloggers scored the fight 30-27 for Lyoto Machida." UFC president Dana White tweeted shortly after the fight that he had Machida winning all three rounds, and later told Yahoo! Sports "Machida definitely won", "MMA judging sucks", and his oft-repeated advice: "Never leave it in the hands of the judges." Machida left the light heavyweight division and went on to fight for the UFC Middleweight Championship.

Nada a ver. Sua comparação é muito distante da realidade. Pra começo, Ronaldo é conhecido mundialmente, já Lioto é mais por quem gosta de luta. Look at davis's lean mass...Juice, off course. Lyoto started to lose when the athletes came bulkier, juiced. And then they punished Lyoto for a little contamination from DHEA, something that doesnt improve shit compared to real "juice". Lyoto era was Full of athletes his size. After Jones, juice came strong. Even in middleweight, they were stronger than light heavyweight athletes of Lyoto's era. Right now, there are heavyweights fighting in middleweight, something Impossible without juicing, at least, for years before the fight, constructing lean muscle, than taking clomiphene to retain muscle mass (thats what JJ did)...thats a shame.

That's the real thing, the "selective doping control". But now usada is testing crossfit athletes...they can do 50 pull ups 5 times in a row....but without peds........Lol
