Talk show hosts today should take lessons from Donahue. He asked the tough questions and no political correctness which allowed us to know the real Kenny, faults and all. @@32yvon I am 69 and also listen still. My husband was cremated, I was waiting in parking lot for the first puff of smoke and as it came, Blaze of Glory came on the radio! At his memorial that song was played versus Amazing Grace and I took some negative comments because of it. My husband, Kenny ( in spirit only ) and myself appreciated it. Kudos to your mom!

My Dad would have identified with Kenny easily. He grew up broke, eating very little of the same cheep foods over and over again and had 7 siblings close in age. He did what Kenny did (although not reaching the financial heights) and rose above it all suceeding and making sure his loved ones were provided for.

This was a Kenny Rogers song that I was not very familiar with myself. The song is "They Don't Make Them Like They Used To" from an album by the same title. The album was released on October 23, 1986, just shortly after this show aired. Apparently it was the introduction of the song/album prior to its release.
