I love these old videos and being raised on them gives you some education on surfing and you mention Phil Edwards to people today they don't know who he is.

A thing about Phil Edwards that I have always admired is that he never believed surfing is, or should be a competitive sport, moreover, a individual activity and a way to express yourself on a wave.

I thought we surfed a lot better than that back then. Makes me wonder if the past actually existed. This representation of the past seems somehow ficticious.

Had a boat in Dana point on the same dock he was not friendly at all
