Sweet playing and great tones. I will order some! I actually play fender and PRS but tempted to buy these for the PRS. I am a Peter green fan. I opened for him in concert in 2008, he signed one of my guitars. Even then at 18 years old I didn’t realise how incredibly lucky and the magnitude of the man I shared a dressing room with. I asked how he got his tone and he smiled. Best wishes to you and your channel

What amp are you using? Great tone. Plenty Lazy J's in the background, but can't see what your wired into!

Phill, great playing as usual. Did you have something to do with the making of this set of pickups? Did you take readings from the real greeny burst before you sold it? How so I get my hands on them in the states? And will they sound as good in my R9? Im not familiar with the "stig" les Paul's

Nice Les Paul

Awesome. If anybody knows how theses should sound and play is Phil. Alan made incredible pickups. I got a pair of these greenies from the first run. They ARE PAFs

Interesting that the Neck pickup is not flipped around like the original Greeny, yet the tone is still there! Makes me wonder if the flip is even necessary.
@frankdiscussion20698 ай бұрын
Flipping the pickup around has no effect on the tone. It's the magnet inside that needs to be flipped 180 degrees.
@derekclacton8 ай бұрын
It causes some confusion because by reversing the pickup the magnet is automatically flipped 180. However, it’s relationship with the coils is unchanged. The magnet has to removed, then flipped - reversing the pickup makes very little difference to the sound. And the famous Greeny out-of-phase tone isn’t obtained simply by flipping the magnet, it’s much to do with how the coils are wound.

It is a 1959 Replica. If it is up there build wise with say a Max Baranet then it would cost about $15K-$40K. Gil yarons R9 clones go for top dollar as well. Canadian builder Bartlett old R9 replica's sell for over $15K. With Gibson charging $20K for a R9 that is not even 100% exact these other replica's that are dead on exact material wise are now fetching ridiculous prices! The MAX LP's are actual collector pieces though because he has a association with SLASH.
@MarkWright-2068 ай бұрын
@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 you can add the Daniel’s Bursts to that lot as well, there amazing replicas

So you took real pafs out and replaced them with repros to get an authentic paf sound😂 ive heard it all now

Phil was the custodian of the actual Peter Green guitar for 1 or 2 years before it went to the Metallica guitarist who bought it, so he has a pretty good idea of what those pickups sound like. Thanks!
