Re-listening to these songs as an adult vs growing up with them, I'm just now making the connections. Love Divine is an "All My Loving" tribute, and the solo section is the "Cliffs of Dover" riff. Amazing it took me this long.

Well I couldn't remember a year ago if I had watched Phil's concert and after finding my Creation 92' photos a few months ago. I can say that yes I do remember being in the crowd watching this and getting a photo of Phil after his concert as well as meeting Kim Hill as well.

So gifted. I’m so glad he used his talent for the Lord. I’ve been listening to him since 1985. I met him once after a concert in Akron Ohio. I’m so thankful for his music over the years. I don’t know if they’ll be another one like him someday. Such a good singer as well.

He is so great and painfully underappreciated. Been a fan for a few decades and I never hear any guitarists mention him. Childrens Fantasy was one of the first songs I learned.

I can’t believe I waited so long to view this. Crimson and Blue was the second Keaggy cd I bought and the one that really hooked me. I’ve searched and searched to find performances of songs from it but mostly found acoustic versions. I’ve often had this one in my mind as a future one to watch but wasn’t in a hurry because it predated the release of what is still my favorite Phil album. Man, I wish I had known it was comprised largely of songs from C&B. This is now one of my favorite videos and I will be returning frequently.

I just love all Phil's music including the albums with Jeff Johnson & all the Glass Harp stuff. It's impossible to rank his music but Crimson & Blue is a favorite & I also have Blue (the alternate album). C&B is one of those albums that I just can't go very long without listening to it. It's like close to the edge, I have to revisit the album often. So I just ran across this video today & watched the concert noticing it says 92. They played strong tower & I expected songs from find me in these fields. Wow! Most of the songs were from C&B which was released in 93. Some bands will take their songs on tour & perfect them on the road before taking them to the studio to make the album. So now I have to wonder if that is what Phil did & why C&B stands out ❤

Ever since I heard Van's album *_Common One_* - long years ago, I've tried to keep him in prayer. I sense a troubled but worshipful heart. I'd sure like to see you & "The Skunk" get together for an epic jam session. He's one incredibly sharp guy but I don't know what (or if) is his faith. I hope & pray for him, too. †

Always dug 'live Phil' & with a band, not looper Phil. Don't get me wrong, a true talent & genuine person. His band performances are best.

Phil has worked hard, and well, at sounding good to hear in any performance mode. Way ahead of the curve in looping art, (especially hard to do in concert): he can still easily play simple acoustic, or hard rock, w/o computerized help!
@garyoldham4449 Жыл бұрын
Probably it's about availability of the players. And different projects involving musicians. There's rehearsal time and also. Touring is exhausting. Bands might play six weeks and then take some time off from the road. So Phil might as well do solos in between times. As far as looping, it's just a way to build complete songs allowing rhythm to support as much lead solo as per your heart's content. Something interesting about a band is they don't hear the song (inside their head) the same as you do and then you are surprised by their contribution. When you are playing all of the parts it is different. The song emerges completely as you imagined it.

I'm so sad I never got to meet Mr Keaggy. At that point I had already been a fan for a decade and I was in my early 20s. He was playing at a church in San Diego. I heard Glass Harp via a vinyl album in the early 90s. The one with Childrens Fantasy, I still own it.
