Phil Keaggy, what an amazing musician! I’ve had the privilege of seeing him live, twice, and he did not disappoint! He did things with his guitar that were almost unbelievable! Great top 10!

Any metal head that doesn’t appreciate Phil Keggy probably just hasn’t heard him enough. I’ve seen the who’s who of guitar legends live (Christian and secular), and Phil Keaggy is at the top of my list. What he can do is jaw-dropping. As much as I love his solo stuff I think I slightly prefer the first two glass harp albums. More of a hard rock 70s sound. Absolutely phenomenal.

Phil would come to Riverside, California often, I saw him in 1980 when I was a seventeen-year-old student of the guitar, and was thoroughly Amazed by his effortless musicianship, and He Still Remains one of my favorite guitar players, and an inspiration. The master and the musician was re-released in 2008 for the 30th Anniversary containing a few new tracks, which were recorded in Garden Grove California of all places, including a beautiful version of Amazing Grace for the finale of the album, The master and the musician is very close to my heart . I , and perhaps you May remember a group called "Sweet Comfort" sounding really good and having a killer bass player ??. - "A belief is a speech that can't be proven right, Truth is a song never to be proven wrong." td < for p.keaggy

Keaggy is a Jedi Master of guitar. Crimson and Blue: a phenomenal album of driving classic rock! PK & Sunday's Child is great as well with its early to mid period Beatle-esque sound. Glad you shared this episode, Keven! -Kent

This was great, Keven! Crimson And Blue was given to me by a youth leader who knew that I loved guitar, but kind of missed the mark (or so I thought) since the mildest music I was into was Petra and White Heart. Most of what I was into was much heavier, so I didn't really listen to Phil Keaggy. However, I ran across the CD many years later, after I had "matured" and expanded my musical interests. I popped in the CD for the first time in years and I was blown away. Even so, I never checked out any of his other stuff. But your list has piqued my interest for sure. Thanks for sharing, my friend!

I could never have a top 10 PK list. There are just too many good songs. I've always wished there was a full-length version of Instrumental #3 and #4 from Find Me In These Fields.
