That is the whole point of faith. If it could be proved there would be no need for faith.

@fretworx I need to correct myself. You were more correct than I thought. First off, Doug co-wrote Just A Moment Away with Phil. Second, Greg X. Volz was putting together a project and Doug relocated to MO but the band folded shortly thereafter. Phil needed a bassist, drummer and backup vocal for a tour and Doug, Jerry Gaskill and Greg Volz joined Phil for about a year. Doug soon after saw Ty and brought in Jerry and The Edge was born. Name change to Sneak Preview which became King's X.

@abassplayer4life Right you are - you know your stuff. Then Greg goes to the E-Band and later Petra. So cool how some of the most amazing acts ever got their start. These guys truly paved musical paths that are still being walked upon today.

@abassplayer4life That's crazy cool! I had no idea, and I consider myself a pretty hardcore King's-X fan. I actually live in Spfd, MO from where they started, and have friends that hung w/them when getting their start. Heck, I've even got a 2x12 cab that Ty used to play through back in the day. But I've never heard the Keaggy connection - THANKS MILLIONS for clueing me in about that! That must have a been a fantastic sounding lineup...

@fretworx Funny you should say "Birth of King's X". This album/song has Doug Pinnick singing background vocals. And when Keaggy toured in the early 80's Doug played bass for him and Jerry Gaskill played drums. King's X were together at this time but they were known as "Sneak Preview".

Too bad the video quality is so poor, but hey hearing is more important than seeing in this case! Thanks for sharing!

Brings back memories--and look at that hair ;) Do you know (or remember) where this was filmed?

@bruhe keaggy is in a completely other league from clapton. Clapton was a killer guitarist, but he was really and truly more just a songwriter. Keaggy is pretty much just a virtuoso, even today.

Yo I heard he had an impairment missing some portions of some fingers is that true? And if so when?

It'd lace sensor pickups ?
@WhaleBluePRS5 жыл бұрын
He has a '64 Strat that I believe is totally stock. If it's that guitar, it's probably the original single-coils. I'm reasonably sure this concert would've pre-dated Lace Sensors by a few years but could be wrong.

Just found this video too. Definitely not Lace Sensors in this video. Hope that helps you out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/emq1cneGl6eSfJY

He did indeed put a set of them in his Strat though. Watch the Blues Counsel with Phil Keaggy 'The River Is Rising' and you'll see em

@@joshuavincentparrella6853 Great referral, thanks! What a great "gang" of guitarists! Interesting that he'd replace the original pickups, assuming that's his original '64. (So many people wanting vintage instruments and all that.) I just got a PRS Silver Sky and couldn't be more thrilled with it. It's got that whole vintage thing with all the modern refinements.

BestTVvideo not unknown to guitarists! His biggest fan is 'Tommy Emmanuel'!
