I love, love this podcast. However, I wish Al an Jase would include their Dad in it. Most of the time they are looking and speaking to each other. When Phil tries to speak, Jase nearly always interrupts him and we never get to hear Phil's point. Phil is a very wise man and we would like to hear what he has to say. Otherwise this is a wonderful podcast.

May want to study the word "prophecy" as used in the Bible. Biblical prophecies come as a direct message or vision from God. It is not the same as a "prediction," ie. "America is going down hill." It is not the same as preaching the Gospel message learned through studying the bible. Repeating a prophecy from a Biblical prophet that has not yet come true, does not make you a prophet. Preaching and Prophesying are not the same thing. Deuteronomy 18:22

They reflect us, it uncovers what’s inside of us. It’s the evil nature of our being that prompts us to be quick to assume the worse of others. Why? Because the pride of the flesh wants to make the self-feel and look “better” by thinking bad about others. This is very dangerous because it can and will lead to self-righteousness. I grew up in the church, baptized and read the Bible. Your assumption that I have a lack of knowledge about Jesus is an assumption. I would never question your beliefs why is it you think you have the right to question mine. Please read your bible and reflect on what is says about self-righteousness.

I love c.s. Lewis. I studied him while I was studying Christianity and religions of the world at Central Michigan University. I love his book screwtape Letters too. Where he says even the woman at church who is clicking her fingernails is a junior devil if she can take your soul and it can irritate you Satan will take you. Prophecy, the best gift, is simply proclaiming God's Truth, whether it has already happened and written in the Bible (which is most of it), or it is to happen, as written in the Bible (His return). Prophecy is not about speculation, prediction, and special visions. When those before Christ spoke of Him, these things had not happened yet, but it was God's Truth yet to happen. Now that Jesus has come and has fulfilled most of the prophecies concerning Himself, we prophecy by sharing the Truth about Him. And yes, He will fulfill all prophecies concerning Himself at the end of the age. Hallelujah, Praise You my loving servant King of kings!

I think we all do what the Apostle Paul warned the Galatians about in Galations 3:3 We start with the Holy Spirit but then we try to perfect ourselves by self effort. Before I was saved I was unrighteous. Since I've been saved I am righteous, God gave me the righteousness of Jesus. SO what am I trying to perfect?? My problem is do I believe what God said about me enough to live like it's true?

A lot of truths you mentioned that are often not taught in that way: 1. That miracles and prophecies in the bible are meant to help lead us to Christ and to prove that these things can still happen today. 2. Miracles will often occur if we pray for them but not always. God sometimes has another purpose for a trial we are going through 3. If a miracle someone has prayed for occurs, that's some we need to praise God for and give him credit. If it doesn't, it should never be used as an excuse to put down or belittle a person.

I agree Jesus is better than miracles and they point to Him, but the idea that people today don’t sometimes need the word “with signs following” doesn’t make sense. Are we saying that today we are are superior to Jesus and the Apostles? What about what Jesus said in Mark “these signs shall follow them that believe?” Keeping it in balance is definitely right, and knowing that it’s “as the Spirit wills” is essential. There’s a big difference between chasing miracles and just expecting God to work miraculously as we share His good news!
