Phil Ochs' song, "Power and the Glory" written in 1963. Correction: Phil Ochs died by his own hand in 1976, not 1965. The final verse was cut in the official album, but recordings with all original verses survive.

I always love the 2nd verse “yet we’re only as rich as the poorest of the poor, only as free as a padlock prison door, only as strong as our love for this land, only as tall as we stand” Its so inclusive

Why was that verse removed? Like I get how it’s controversial but it should still be in the song.
