Taylor would have gone BERSERK had Price done that to him! Bit of a two sided situation regarding Phil`s take on it, he is right that it`s way over the top in what they have done to Price, whilst many others are doing very similar things. But on the other hand Taylor more or less said he was glad to retire now there`s all the roaring and jumping around on stage, and that the game had changed and there was no respect like in the old days.

Agreed. Taylor was once caught mimicking MVG's 180 celebration (which only consists of him turning to his left and roaring a bit) and mouthing 'wanker' when he was doing nothing more than Phil also did when he hit a finish or maximum. Taylor is a huge bell end and hypocrite - always has been. Couldn't take being beaten and would always find something to whinge about as an excuse. Greatest darts player ever, no doubt about that, but I will never like the man. As you say, he would have lost his shit if he was playing and Price started those kinds of antics.

He's been fined £15000 and publicly reprimanded for doing something that's been done a million times in our sport ffs. I know society has changed over the last 20 years but that doesn't mean darts has to change along with it, it's trashing our sport. First the walk-on girls careers were totally destroyed because of this PC/SJW bullsh*t, and now players are being fined and punished for showing emotion on stage.....it's going to f*ck the sport up slowly but surely. I'm totally convinced that Barry Hearn is losing his touch, both darts and snooker are in a vulnerable position right now with him acting so questionably.

@@FootieFan1886 - I agree, peoples track record should be taken into account, that's why Gary Anderson falsely accusing Darryl Gurney of saying things to put him off during his throw should have been thought of also. Especially seeing as it only happened a couple of months before the Anderson Vs Price incident, there's a pattern occurring that involves Gary Anderson being a really sore loser when he's being outplayed. This whole fine/punishment would never have happened if Anderson hadn't stirred the pot during and after that final he got beat in. Price did push it a bit too far at times but so has MvG and Kim Huybrechts, and that big Dutch fella. Gerwen Price has been mistreated on this one I reckon.

I'm also right behind Gezza on this. He did nothing wrong. Just got back from Minehead and there was a real buzz when Gezza comes on. He was also very gracious in defeat. I'm rapidly becoming a fan of his and yes I'm English!!!

Very rare that I find myself agreeing with everything Taylor has said, despite the fact that he has called out players, Kim Huybrechts for example, for the exact same behaviour in the past. That being said, I don't see what Gerwyn did wrong when compared with past performances, or compared to other players. The fact that Gary is hugely popular, and was so pissed off probably had something to do with it. What the PDC is saying in essence, is that Gerwyn Price-style antics are wrong, but sustained booing, jeering, and whistles from the crowd is left alone, and players are told to get on with it. Everywhere you look, there are massive inconsistentencies within the organisation.

Weaker players often tend to annoy better players in different ways. It is also great fun to watch player's celebration of the good score (very entertaining, which I support). Showing aggression into opponent's face is much more appropriate for boxing or other fighting, physical games, but not for DARTS. Although a great player, Phil Taylor is wrong about this statement.

Well in my honesty opinion Gerwyn Price is absolutely fantastic and I can't say enough superlatives about the bloke. I'm my 50's and been watching sport since I was a kid and so much sport is boring as f--- cos all the characters have gone from all sports, the Jockey Wilson's, Alex Higgins, Gazza, Brian Barnes etc. I'm not saying this in an insulting way at all to anyone, but sport is now full of health conscious, law abiding people who work with sports psychologists, striving for perfection and ultimate success. I know that is the whole point of competing from every sportsman's perspective, however, in turn it's taken much of the fun away from the viewer's perspective. Gerwyn Price long may you last 😁
