Lots of great music discussion on this -- I love it! Phil is tuned down a whole step for the entire "singalong 2" record. On his "Response" record, this song is in Db, but it's in C here and he is playing chord shapes as if he is in the key of D. This I am 100% sure about.

No need for tutorials. It's very easy to figure out to be honest. It's all standard playing, I guess it just sounds a lot better with a lower Octave. As a matter of fact, I actually am using phils tuning as my standard tuning. It does sound a lot better distorted and more powerful. So kudos to Phil. And speaking of which, a lot of the songs, Phil likes to use E, A, B, and Cm7. If you apply that, you probably have gotten nearly half the album down.

Does anyone know what combination of pedals/effects Phil uses when he plays acoustic like this?

okay sweet, I know he usually plays in D# but I'm dropped a whole step. I finally got the chords he used in this song from a tutorial video for At Your Name on his youtube, i wrote them out on that if anyone wants to know what they are

All you need is a dotted eighth delay right? I think he puts just one repeat maybe?
