I discovered Phil X about 6 months ago through KZbin and am totally bummed to learn that he’s been rocking long before I heard of him. The bright side is I’ve been catching up on all of his videos. I truly think he’s one of the best rock & Roll guitar players out there.

I'm convinced that there are no nicer people on Earth than those who work at Sweetwater. They will absolutely bend of backwards if you're in a bind. My adviser, Darius Beatz, is just a pleasure to do business with but, really, everyone I've ever dealt with has been. First class operation all the way.

@Dave Dennis. He's on my twitter account. He sent out begging 'tweets' on his account, asking for donations for his Mother-in-laws hospital bills. People were sending in 5$, 10$ and some were poor and apologising for only giving 1 dollar. I don't like that. He is a big earner not only with Bon Jovi (mega) but with all his other music incomes. PONCE.

Phil is such a dichotomy. His playing, and sound, are so stripped down and "basic" (for lack of a better word). But all of his equipment, from his Framus guitars to his amps are super-F*CKING-expensive! Haha. Leave it to Mr. X. Cheers.

@nhlshstr5 жыл бұрын
Picking harder = higher signal level. I fail to understand what he means about the Plexi sounding farty when you pick harder. Weird.
@justingarcia77225 жыл бұрын
When you pick lighter you actually get more sustain and bloom and clarity since you arent forcing the amp to self limit and clip (that's to say running the amp hot like Phil does), that's the nature of the Plexi and it's power section which is looser and slower on the attack, that's the old school approach. Lots of modern amps are very tight and sturdy on the low end because of how the solid state rectifier is designed
