I’m a 49ers fan and you can’t say that for sure. Would it have been more competitive? Absolutely, but the Eagles are a great team. You have to give them their due. It felt personal after Eagles fans mocked Purdy’s injury though. If I was an Eagles fan I feel like I wouldn’t do that. I fully expect both teams to make the NFC championship, because they’re probably the two best teams in football.

As on outsider to both these teams I hate this sentiment. The Eagles were flat out better last year on defense and offense. The 49ers were worse last year. It's not a bad thing to admit. I'm a 49er fan living in Pennsylvania. I'm not a shit-talker and I'm always very respectful to fans of other teams. Eagles fans have not been respectful back to me since the NFC Championship game. Gloating with extreme arrogance and smugness while I have done nothing but give them props for being a really good team. This experience has turned me against Eagles fans completely. They've been like "sore winners" in a way that I have never experienced before as a sports fan. Normally I would be happy about a fanbase getting some humble pie, but I don't think many Eagles fans ever actually learn from stuff like this. It just makes them worse fans, and ultimately worse people.

What does it matter? It gives the tie breaker to the 49ers, that's why it matters. Now they're pressured to win throughout because they have to end the season with a better record than the 49ers, not tied or worse. The 49ers can win it all whether their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd seed; but the Eagles must have that bye week and home field advantage in order to have a prayer at a rematch in the NFC Championship game. Dallas will lose at least a couple games in December, but Detroit may go on a run and compete for 1st or 2nd place as well. But regardless of the final placements, the 49ers are clearly the best overall team in the league!

Yeah, they beat a team that HAD NO QB! That's the ONLY reason they beat the NIners last year. They had the EASIEST road to the SB in the history of the NFL. They played the Giants and the Niners. Two teams who didn't have a QB. And yes, I'm well aware that D. Jones played last year for the Giants. I stand by my statement.
