This is a documentary on Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philly is home to some vibrant beautiful areas however, it's also home to some of the worst crime and poverty in America. Known as one of the "poorest" largest cities in the US, it has a poverty rate of over 23%, and a violent crime rate of over 182% the National Average. Homelessness is a major issue especially in the Kensington Avenue area which we will take a look at. Median household income is around 49k, and unemployment rate is 5.4%. Although there are an enormous amount of amenities in Philly, affording it may be a whole other problem. Rent rates are extremely high in most places, and home ownership is low. Let's check out some of the most impacted area's of the city.
This is for educational purposes, always opt to live a clean, healthy lifestyle. If you or someone you know needs help please seek it, dont wait. There are a lot of resources out there.

This city with it's historical provenance should never have been allowed to turn into what you see here. The people who have run this city for decades, didn't maintain strict zoning, maintenance, infrastructure, city service mandates. This city stopped being a landmark and historical tourist destination long ago it seems. Lost all pride. Embarrassing.

That blue overhead transit system (which I don't think we have in Canada) does not help anything on the streets below. 😢

It's truly painful watching these videos. What happened to these towns, what happened to this country that would ALLOW this to happen in the first place 🤔😔

So sad..I've watched many videos about Kensington Ave. As always, there are two sides to the story. With so many people displaced with job/ home loss, rental crisis, lost manufacturing, you show us the raw truth. So called 'wealthy countries ' are not wealthy in terms of looking after their citizens. 😢
