Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | What Happened?

This is UNBELIEVABLE! Easily one of the most dangerous and heartbreaking places you will ever see in America. This is some of the worst areas in Kensington / Philadelphia, PA.

This is an educational documentary on daily lives in Kensington and surrounding Philly areas. I have lost friends and family due to fighting their own demons like this and I can only hope exhibiting this stuff deters people from ever going down this path. Yes and no. They'll pick up the trash but the sanitations people who do street work simply can't keep up (and that's if they're even trying)

I see you did another continuing phillidalphia. The city is so big you can't see it all.. it's still bring back bad memories for me living there as a child growing up. I went to this capuchin missionary for help to make my life better. But it got ever worser... they wouldn't help . So by the time I turned 14 I ran away. The best thing i ever did... it a place of crime ,thefts and drugs... today I got a wife and two children... I'm being the a husband and father to my family. I never want anyone to have that kind of life living there as I had... People ask me but this is American. I reply yes this is the bad side of it...

Going back a decade in the early 2010's, it was poor, and can be pretty sketchy, but it wasn't heartbreaking. Nowadays, it's literally hell on earth! It gets worst at night when you start seeing people sleeping on the sidewalks on both Kensington and Allegheny Aves. Glad I left that forsaken city!

I used to party in some of those abandoned warehouses back in the mid-2000s. "Deep Nights" those events were called. Place was dangerous back then but nothing like it is today. City is such a disaster.

What the hell happened to Philadelphia?! I served at the Naval Hospital at the corner of Broad and Pattison Ave. The Naval ⚓️ Shipyard was right across from the hospital where the Battleships from World War II were in dry dock. I am a Woman Vietnam Era Navy WAVE Veteran who lived in the WAVES 🧜🏼‍♀️ Barracks at NRMC~ Philadelphia. My life in Philadelphia was wonderful. I enjoyed the “City of Brotherly Love” so much. I became friends with the Philadelphia Police Officer who walked the downtown beat with his German Shepherd while occasionally twirling his Nightstick as he smiled and shared stories. Every weekend I would ride the Subways and enjoy the Architectural Beauty of Downtown Philly. I remember a huge park somewhere in the city or on the outskirts of the city. All of the Row Houses that had Storefronts I did business with. Bookbinder’s Restaurant was my favorite restaurant and the open air restaurant where I could buy the most delicious Hoagie in the world! Later I saw it in the first episode of “ Rocky“ Where has it all gone? This can’t be the America that I grew up in. We are supposedly one of the richest countries in the world. How can we have homelessness?😢 Before my mother passed away in 1995 she said that she was glad that she was leaving this earth. She said she thought she would never live to see the day when you can see the difference between the “Haves and the Have Nots!” I am so glad she is not here to see the downfall and division in this supposed United States of America! “And Crown Thy Good. A lot of people don’t realize that unemployment numbers roll off. Essentially a percentage of those people who stay unemployed long enough are not considered a part of the unemployment rate because they have been unemployed too long. That’s how they are able to show that the unemployment rate is low because it only captures a window in time.

I been down there near to there work at Cancer Hospital. See this all the time. You got to turn a blind eye. Nothing you can do. First thing I do is support the Police with more funding second call the national guard. This will get worst.
