I live in Poland, Europe. I've never seen anything like this. The worst parts of the worst cities never looked like this. Even in communism years (30 years ago...) there was no junks on the streets. Nobody throws trash directly on the street....sad to see such pictures from USA.

I've been to Poland several times. Its a lovely country and feels very safe. I think that fact it seems to be 99% Polish is the reason. I'm seeing mixed societies fail and the western leaders are oblivious. The UK is a prime example of this direction

Can you imagine. I live in north Philly and my whole life as a child having to walk past what we call “zombies” and stepping over their needles was normal to us also them asking us for our bus money was normal too. It’s sad and I can’t control my environment bc I was born here. It’s become normalized. All I can do is hope to save enough and get a nice home somewhere out of Philadelphia. Between this and the gun violence I don’t feel safe here anymore.

Every political leader that represents this area both local and the national level, should be ousted from their positions. @@GK-ku3zv The resident's of my city (Detroit) were more interested in stripping homes for scrap, than even cutting the grass or doing even simple maintenance . I have lived my entire life in the city and have seen why home prices dropped below 10,000.00 and at that price nobody had insurance so when they set them on fire they just walked away and left it for the city to handle. They also shoplifted so much that most stores left the city. None of this is the cause of anyone other than themselves period.

People need to do the following: 1. Change the city officials. 2. Evaluate the existing laws. 3. Mobilize the citizens per block, district to do the clean up drive. 4. Let there be a leader who can lead the people who still wanted for change. 5. Provide assistance to those homeless like feeding program. 6. Iron hand is needed in this place. 7. I drove that street last summer when me and my bf were visiting Philly. He heard about this place and wanted to see for his own eyes. It was unbelievable like a zombie apocalypse. I was driving because my bf can't drive in city traffic. After I drove up the street. I honestly had to pull into a store parking lot to take a few minutes to compose myself before we headed back down the street to get to the hotel. Talk about a mix of anxiety, fear and just head shaking at the fact that the city just doesn't care.

It made me think - this is probably one of the reasons of your ever rising city sprawl in the US. All hardworking people will borrow to the hilt to get the place to live in the suburbs to stay away from such stuff. My friends from the US who live in the suburb told me that the local community put some pressure on municipality to stop regular bus service from downtown to their suburb and I was wondering why? Now I know.
@milspec8283

This is actually true, on the weekends my city stops bus transportation from downtown to our mall just outside downtown in a nice part of town, because the youth kept going there and having shoot outs in the parking lot and the amount of people getting robbed was out of control. When I was in highschool on the weekends the stores stayed open till 10 and the mall was open till 1 or 2am and you could walk around till the theater closed. Now everything starts closing by 7 and everyone under 18 must be out of the mall by 8pm.
