I love how he sums everything up so perfectly at the end of this episode. His belief about how to determine the truth from lies is exactly what I am trying to teach my kids. It is harder than ever to get an accurate idea of what any truth actually is. Opinions are what most people use to determine what their personal beliefs become, and there are certain opinions that get pushed intentionally as a way to influence public opinion. It's hard to teach this important information to kids because they mostly believe the opinions they hear through friends or pop culture. Keep an open mind, but facts are essential. Stories and opinions are important but need to be backed by research in order to be taken seriously. I love this channel!

This is the story that got me hooked on Coast-to-Coast AM. I happened to catch it on an overnight drive between LA and Salinas, CA, about 5 hours. I was the last caller into the Art Bell show the night that Al Bielik came on. I was very excited because Al had mentioned T.Townsend Brown. I was very into physics at the time and was fascinated by Al's story. The Art Bell show was a conservative political radio program at the time...(remember Charlie the Liberal?)...but Art switched quickly to the paranormal format after he aired Al Bielik's story. I got onto the show as a caller many times afterwards, but Art eventually flagged me as an impertinent caller because I asked a lot of technical questions of his many guests...especially Richard C. Hoagland who I met personally once. Thanks for posting this story AJ. (P.S. Don't forget the Mystery Men symbology topic.)

My goddaughter is now addicted to the why files. She has mental health issues and she says NOTHING helps her feel better than TWF !! thanks for all the awesome content😊
@mrmj23976 ай бұрын
That must be tough. But, I'd say the term "mental health issues" is broad and overused. There are many conditions that are heterogeneous, neuro-divergent and these exist since birth. These are not "mental health issues" and cannot be "cured" but those can learn how to manage better with awareness and learning new skills. Then again, there are significant mental health challenges, some are highly treatable with medication, diet and exercise. But again, an overused term. Help combat the stigma and just state what your -daughter- goddaughter is challenged with. Often, when we do this, people will come forward who share the particular "challenge" and may suggest some strategies that ha e helped them. In any case, I wish you and your *edit -daughter- Goddaughter a wonderful day, and I hope you enjoy some positive days in the coming weeks. :)

I cant comment on Bielek's story or any of the crazier "Montauk Project" conspiracy stuff. What I _can_ say is that I used to be big into urban exploration 25+ years ago. I used to explore the old Camp Hero base at Montauk in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It was a creepy place, and a lot of the official story about it being fully decomssioned and supposedly public land was iffy at best. There was evidence of multiple underground levels, 100% definitely a tunnel network on base (at least one branch of which extended out to the base of the cliff by the lighthouse, off base), and perhaps most interesting the supposedly decommissioned base with zero population, zero equipment, supposedly even no electricity at all and full of abandoned buildings on the surface --- was up til at least 2002 using *colossal amounts of power*. They had multiple *brand new* active transformers and power boxes on the base at that time, all humming away outputting power, to a virtual octopus of cables each the thickness of my arm that disappeared into the ground in several areas. Don't ask me to recall the exact KwH numbers now, but from reading the gauges whatever was underground on that base at the time was drawing enough current to power a large factory (or indeed the entire Camp Hero/SAGE Radar installation during it's operating days). So where is all that power going at a decomm'd base where all the cables went underground, all the surface structures were clearly long abandoned, and it's all shut down? The only surface structure I saw in use, over several years and many trips there, was a small hut used as a base for the guards; and it was powered by it's own small gas generator. It's also interesting to note, when the military donated the Camp Hero property to the state as public park land, the grant was *only for the surface level of the land*, everything below that eg; "any/all subsurface property", remained in military possession. Maybe that's normal but it struck me as an odd provision. The old SAGE dish building was interesting; but to be honest most of the base was just typical plain, utilitarian army buildings that were empty and falling apart. Nothing exciting in most cases. Several of the buildings on site were just _weird_ in the extreme though: Civilian houses with small rooms that looked like cells, each one covered in odd psychedelic wallpaper. Bricked up bunkers. Access hatches and ventilation posts for what was obviously an extensive tunnel system. Random unmarked doors that opened into the sides of hills miles away from the base perimeter itself.Active camera systems, motion detectors, and other advanced security and perimeter detection systems. Also very aggressive security in unmarked trucks that were very intimidating toward "trespassers" (again, this place was decommissioned and considered PUBLIC PARKLAND at this time), who would chase people out to the perimeter and record them on videocameras (this was the pre-smartphone days of course). So yeah. For an empty, unstaffed, abandoned base that was supposedly open to the public -- except building interiors of course, due to them being 'unsafe', why was it so extremely well guarded? What's with the tunnel system going all over the base itself and all around Montauk point? What's with the highly aggressive security agents and perimeter detection systems? The massive power use -- which again were not vintage era military stuff from when the base was active, but brand new transformers drawing huge amounts of power? They certainly did their damndest to keep the public out and scare/intimidate them away.... I thought it was all very strange long before I ever heard of Bielek or the Montauk Project conspiracy stuff; and honestly I think that's about 90% fiction or delusion, take your pick. Doesn't mean some secret, shady government stuff wasn't going on at the Camp Hero base long after its official decommissioning and abandonment though. Not even our wasteful government puts that much security and effort into keeping people out of a few abandoned buildings that were all literally empty, and I was in almost all of them ;) *It's the underground levels that matter, but I have no public comment on those. Sorry this was long and rambling. Just going through old memories I haven't thought about in decades.

I have a controversial hot take. I think this channel is better than Coast to Coast. I typically binge-listen to these episodes or creepypasta on long drives over the Coast to Coast stories. The way AJ presents the stories in the first act then crushes the details in the second is truly so well done. I have gotten at least 5 people in my friend group to start watching as well.

You bring a format to these stories, which is perfect. We can watch them as graphic novels unfolding in front of us without feeling convinced or pressured to believe anything, and that's how entertainment should be, when it's not putting the focus on purchasing the mind of the observer, it's 'enjoyable'. Great story, AJ made it sound like I hear it for the first time 🤗 My takeaway is that we don't have to destroy our planet before we rebuild it, we are better than that, especially when we have a vision of what the future should look like. In fact, they woke up in the year 2749 when life turned out to be utopian. If we focus on the goal, we might get there sooner, and 2749 will be 2049, without wars or anything else in between. the tricky thing with time travel is that it's really difficult to prove, if not impossible. i'm not going to discount this... my forays into the nature of consciousness and the soul have taught me more than anything else that EVERYTHING is possible, no matter if we believe it or not. stories like this one is where the border of the normal and paranormal get so thin you can practically see right through it. trust your gut. always.
@bridgetsieger22615 ай бұрын
If it was all true I can see how TPTB could easily make him look like a liar or crazy or threatens him to redact (make many versions of a story to seem false). I suppose we (I ) will never know. But people who speak up are made to look crazy by the govt.
@pauljs755 ай бұрын
One thing that makes it tricky is if you consider some aspects for a moment is timeline divergence,so which one are you in? And also there could on occasion be something like convergent timelines, and that may have something to do with the Mandela effect. So anything involving time travel can be screwy vs. most paradox scenarios.

The Why Files team is one of the few channels across all mediums of entertainment today that does exactly what they say they are going to do. Learn a topic of interest, research every thread possible, provide that information in a great story format to their viewers without bias and then let us decide. This people... is what liberty is truly about. We can disagree (believers vs non-believers) but we don't need to physically harm one another. Just bring your best evidence (physical, scientific, philosophical, religious, etc.) and talk about the topic openly and without hate for the other side. AJ, Hecklefish (my grandma loves the little rascal) and WF team... Never change. It's fun to discuss wild/crazy/incredible/disturbing stories and not feel judge like the rest of society does for everything. I actually mentioned the channel amongst great friends and all I got was ridicule. All I told them is "look, here's the story, you can make your own opinion and if you'd like we can discuss it"... I got crickets. Few people have mental openness and the ability to buck dogma. FREE YOUR MIND People! AJ, Hecklefish & WF team are only showing us the door... We have to walk through it.

What: Write a 3 page essay on any topic for English class. Separately we chose the Super Natural; Project Blue Book (Erick), Bermuda Triangle (Shawn), and Philadelphia Experiment (me). Why: Yes the essays were required but we really wanted information to fuel our campfire stories. Funny thing, all of our fathers work for the Navy in one way or another. Where: some town between Earle and Lakehurst Naval bases Thank you for the flashback.
