From the outside looking in: What a different & honest approach India has to people's reaction to appearance. When I critic a show I often look at the social message it sends. A definite thumbs UP for this one!! I was born & raised in India, but spent most of my life in the US. It's home & I have come to love it dearly. WHY would ANYone have a problem with skin color in INDIA - Indians are a colorful bunch - Different shades of brown, makes for an interesting town!? As for South India, we can allll learn from them!! They are not only more educated and intelligent, they excel all over the world!! They obviously care less about the color of skin & more about the quality of the mind!! As for weight, we have a serious obesity problem in the US, where it has become a norm to be over-weight & flaunt it. I practice Wholistic Health, and believe Safety first, then Health -NOthing is as important!! Self Control comes next, as it builds (self) worth, esteem & confidence. Money comes & goes, and is meant to be shared & distributed - Health is worth having, keeping & cherishing. "Health is Wealth" is not just a cliché, it's a fact!! Be healthy & encourage others to do the same - It's never too late to start, and the benefits are SO worthwhile. It's also GOOD KARMA. Namaste✌!!

मी माझा अनुभव सांगतो.मी अतिशय उत्कृष्ट खेळाडू होतो पण एके दिवशी ( 25 वर्षांपूर्वी ) माझा अपघात झाला आणि एक पाय कायमस्वरूपी जायबंदी झाला. खेळणे तर दूरच पण चालणे ही अवघड झाले. सायकल मोटार सायकल चालवता येते एवढेच त्यातल्या त्यात सुख. पटकन नोकरी मिळवून स्वावलंबी व्हावे , आई वडिलांना भार नको म्हणून शिक्षक झालो. नोकरी पर्मनंट होती.पगार व्यवस्थित होता. घरात लग्नाचा विषय सुरू झाला आणि जी नकारांची मालिका सुरू झाली की बस. मॅट्रिक पास होऊ न शकलेल्या मुलींनी बोर्डात येणाऱ्या मुलाला नकार दिले. एका नकार देणाऱ्या मुलीला मी विचारले की माझा पाय मोडला आहे हे तुला दिसतंय पण एखाद्याला एड्स असेल तर तू काय करणार ? निर्बुद्ध तर्कहीन उत्तरे ऐकवली तीने. नंतर मी स्पर्धा परीक्षांच्या माझ्या मूळ ध्येयाकडे वळलो आणि पहिल्याच प्रयत्नात क्लास वन अधिकारी झालो. त्या अधिकार पदामुळे का होईना पण लग्न झाले. पण मूळ प्रश्न अनुत्तरित राहिलाच. ज्यांच्या हाती असे पद किंवा पैसे नाहीत ते हिंदी पिक्चर मध्ये दाखवतात तसे दर दर की ठोकरे खात अक्षरशः जीवनाचे दिवस मोजतात हे मी रोज पाहतो. ( वर सांगितलेला किस्सा दुसऱ्या एका नकार दिलेल्या मुलीच्या बाबतीत मात्र नक्की घडला . तिला शरीराने अपंग असलेला मुलगा रुचला नाही म्हणून चारित्र्याने अपंग असलेला भेटला. तो एड्स मेलाय आणि तिला सप्रेम भेट देऊन गेलाय.)

i think its unfair to compare skin colour with weight....coz skin colour is what we were born with, which cannot be changed naturally but weight is a choice and can be changed with excercise ..besides being too fat is also unhealthy but dark colour is not a sign of bad health... another thing is the video itself pointed out that always fair characters are casted for dark characters and they have done the same thing...the actor is not even considered dark in indian society...in fact he fits the exact beauty standard of indian men...

There are many people who are lean and look physically fit from the outside, but have died due to cardiac arrests (or other health issues) in their 30's or 40's. Even if someone is fat and unhealthy, so what? It is their life as long as they are not being a burden on someone else. Why should they fit the societal standards? Why should they be healthy? Let them be as and who they are and let them live their life. Someone is fit or unhealthy or tall or short or dark or fair or fat or thin, it is their own life. How many Hindi songs have the word gori or gora in them Count there are 15 such songs. I heard a Maharashtrian girl say last month that she felt comfortable in Coimbatore. She said exactly the same thing thst they accept the colour of their skin. Growing up as a Tamil girl with a dark brown skin tone, my family and I lived in the northern parts of India from 2003 to 2018. Imagine a 15-year-old girl walking through the school corridors, while students chant "all black song," emphasizing the word "kaali." It was a constant reminder of my perceived inadequacy. Logon ko samaj nhi ata unka ek word kisi aur ke life pe kitana bada impact hota, logon ko tho dusron ko hurt karne me kushi hi milthi h. In 2019, my family and I relocated to Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Here, I found a newfound sense of confidence and freedom. Life has been significantly better since then, and I'm living a happier life. And here they have mentioned accept yourself first, arey yaar hamne apne aapko accept karne seekh liya h , bs aap log ( so called North indian not everyone) accept nhi kar rahe ho. I have so many north indian best friends , who always encouraged and supported me . I love them ❤️

Im proud of my skin tine. My hubby is very fair and I'm dusky. He chose me because of my colour. My mother In law, brother in law, sister in law and rest family members are very fair but they accepted me like any normal girl. I'm blessed.

Also a fat person can be dark he can work on maintaining weight but not on dark skin. I just only want to say be fit healthy and confident you cannot change your skin colour but can reduce fat and enhance your body personality. And even if you are fat then accept it is natural Don't do anything. You are human and that's enough. Love yourself and care about your body❤

Very true ....same story .had lots of ups n downs in my life due to my dusky color esp in my education. One of my professor even questioned me tht y I took up the speciality ... dermatology. I was in tears fr few months but now see am excelling in it . I accepted myself after struggling a lot ....so now I find it easy . I dnt care abt others now . All tht matters now is jus me n my happiness ❤

Some of the incidents that I faced for being born black :- In school class group photo everyone be like see who is the darkest one, even teacher calling student kala, In shoping Mall people be like oh I think you work here sorry just because you are black, In home when everyone is white you are only alone black relatives, neighbour, visiting you home be like sorry I think tm yaha per kaam per rakha hai, Travelling in train with family people commenting ye baccha aap ke ghar kaam kerta hai, In college even your closest friends says tm meri picture le when it's come to our no. Baad mai lenge. Some people literally stare you like you are the alien from another planet. Finally people make you believe you are not normal after that you starting using every cosmetic cream that claim to make you white you literally start hinding form this world. Most important point you have to be good in something in order to coverup the colour of your skin that's a harse reality. After that also there is always people if they didn't find anything to make you feel down they directly comment on your skin colour.

This movie have emotionally touched me with tears. As a child i was bullied in school because i was a slow learner. I was born n brought up in India now live in Australia as an Australian Citizen. I was overweight in school n was bullied by both teachers n classmates. I was tge tallest in class so oneday my class teacher called me coconut tree and the whole class laughed and since that day everyone in school started calling me ciconut tree. Thanks to that teacher. If you are reading this i hope you remember me. My message to you is you are not fit to be a teacher. Youve damaged a child who went to school and ruined her confidence. Now im free from abuse as i live in a better place...a place of acceptance n i overcomed those abuse i faced as a child by my own will power. This is my STORY

Color is natural we are born with it, Being Fat is different we can control it. Not that I am saying fat shaming is ok but we must encourage people to get healthy and not celebrate being FAT. I am dark as well as Fat. Right now I am on my weight loss journey lost 10 kgs so far. I will edit this post when I am normal weight. BTW, I have FAT for 22 years of my life I am 30 right now.
