Lyrics
Well you can tell ev'ryone I'm a down disgrace
Drag my name all over the place.
I don't care anymore.
You can tell ev'rybody 'bout the state I'm in
You won't catch me crying 'cos I just can't win.
I don't care anymore I don't care anymore
I don't care what you say
I don't play the same games you play.
'Cos I've been talking to the people that you call your friends
And it seems to me there's a means to and end.
They don't care anymore.
And as for me I can sit here and bide my time
I got nothing to lose if I speak my mind.
I don't care anymore I don't care no more
I don't care what you say
We never played by the same rules anyway.
I won't be there anymore
Get out of my way
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore I don't care anymore
Well, I don't care now what you say
'Cos ev'ry day I'm feeling fine with myself
And I don't care now what you say
Hey I'll do alright by myself
'Cos I know.
'Cos I remember all the times I tried so hard
And you laughed in my face 'cos you held all the cards.
I don't care anymore.
And I really ain't bothered what you think of me
'Cos all I want of you is just a let me be.
I don't care anymore D'you hear? I don't care no more
I don't care what you say
I never did believe you much anyway.
I won't be there no more
So get out of my way.
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore
D'you hear? I don't care anymore
I don't care no more
You listening? I don't care no more
No more!
You know I don't care no more!

phil collins literally has a wikipedia article separate from his main one *just* for his awards and nominations. he’s one of the best selling artists of all time (100mil+), both alone and as a band member, in the same league as paul mccartney and michael jackson. he’s won 8 grammys, six brit awards, two golden globes, an emmy, and several others you can say a lot about phil collins but to call him underrated is just wrong lol

I’m 83 and I know now because of Phil singing this song I say I remember when I knew I didn’t care anymore. I still had obligations but the love I felt was gone. I was free. That was in 1966. My life went on but the bonds were broken. I became a new person. I never said a word to anyone but I felt what he is singing. Hope this helps someone understand you can “not care anymore.”

Reminds me of myself, I just stopped giving a shit after people (my ex and current wife) constantly push(ed) shit on me. First it was quitting weed, then booze, then cig's, then going to church, then doing therapy after I got pushed to the edge, then meds, then having to go to a treatment center for a week because I wasn't perfect, repeat, etc. If I want to drink some beers and smoke a joint that is my choice and I'm not harming anyone. Just because people can't handle the fact that you can control your shit and they can't doesn't mean they have the right to force you into a box. Just because so-and-so or whatever professional or co-worker doesn't let their husband have any vices doesn't mean that is a universal truth. Whenever I get bitched at for drinking A beer after work this song plays in my head, fuck that nazi shit.

I have to admit. It can fit the profile of many that just don't care what people think or do. And you don't owe a damn answer to anyone or anything for what ever they think of you did or anything you did or did not do. 🤨🤗 Myself I start to put someone in there place real quick when I get the chance. Only to let them know they are to weak to confront me to my face. It's always, no you can't afford to bust my opinion like that because I ll just make up another lie to cover this one. Strange how people avoid you when they cant tell you the truth. When the truth sounds better. 😂 I read between the lines so good I amaze myself. 🧐 And the easiest part is in how words are said. Hey walk this way. Now what you say. You talk this way to admit something in a different form and tell on your self at the same time. 🤣Oh now that you straightened up. My wife ain't good enough for you ? 🤣😉By the way ,you want to trade? 😉

This song helped me to finally come to terms with the fact that my dad may have loved me, but he hardly ever showed it. For every kind word he had for me there were a thousand critical statements and comments like " that boy gets dumber every day". I realized that the opposite of love is not hate, but just "not caring anymore". If you hate someone, you still care what they think about you and you let them rent space in your head and your heart. I retired and left the state and never looked back. No goodbyes needed, just glad to be gone and at peace. Parents remember this: words have power! speak blessings over your children!

This is in my top five from Phil, he's so angry sounding on this song and emotionally charged, great singing indeed and drumming!

Plus from what I have heard he was straight as an arrow, no drugs or alcohol I think. He was influenced by his heart. God, I wish I had his voice. A real stand-up guy in my book. I think we are supposed to call him Sir Phil Collins.
@qt6327
@qt6327 8 жыл бұрын
He had admitted in an interview that he did have an alcohol problem back in the 80's and then again in some recent years after he couldn't drum anymore. Regarding the 80's he said that he felt bad about drinking so much b/c he felt that he influenced his best friend Eric Clapton who also had an alcohol problem. I agree that Phil is a stand-up guy! He always wore his heart on his sleeve, and that's why alot of his songs are so good b/c they come from real emotion! He had talked about his first divorce and how it was particularly painful for him to get through and that some of his songs came from that experience.

Feeling suicidal and typed “I don’t care anymore”. and this song popped up....So I clicked on it since I recognized Phil Collin from growing up on Tarzan. Maybe this video is a sign to keep up going. It’s relevant.

Melty Moon Can life really be that bad, that you really „don‘t care anymore?“ Isn‘t there something (or someone?) that could bring a smile on your face and the joy to life? I, for instance, joke a lot (way too much if you‘d ask my friends 😅), but it‘s keeping me positive and carried me through many bad times...

A.L. Stoots - Yrs! You are absolutely correct. About the same time, Frida from ABBA was going through the same thing. Phil helped her with her solo album and played drums on the song, “I Know There’s Something Going On”! Great story and I’ve always wondered if they had a romance.

This song is basically the best part of In the Air Tonight (drum entry bridge) for an entire song. Phil is so talented, it's unbelievable. An excellent example of why great drumming only needs to be perfect minimalism, and not non-stop exotic time signatures to be legendary.

Chester is an unbelievably talented drummer who excels in many genres (Zappa, Weather Report) but the drums you hear is Phil's drumming. The audio on this video is the studio track, although the band IS actually playing the song on stage. They're doing such a stellar job playing along with the recorded track that it appears we are hearing it live!
