Repotting String Of Hearts Succulents

How to repot a string of hearts, Ceropegia woodii. Sometimes these guys die back for a variety of reasons, or just can’t support their growth and need to be cut back, and replanted from bulbs. In this video I’m showing you how to do that!

So happy you're back!!!💚 This plant is on the top of my wish list! 🥰I had no clue it came from bulbs!!!😳👍 wonder if you can purchase the bulbs only?? Do any other "string of..." grow from bulbs/rhizoms?? Edit: I've looked everywhere for these rhizomes but have found nothing! Weird!! It would be so much easier purchasing them this way instead of a plant cuttings.....help!😂

I repotted my string of hearts last week (12/11/21). I used bonsaii soil with a bottom layer of leca, but after watering it last week it's still damp should I be worried or is that normal for the type of soil I'm using ? Please help Ive tried asking so many people with no luck

Thank you for this video! Mealies got to my soh and the stems were all shriveling up and drying. I thought the plant was dying. I’m going to try this tomorrow :). But it’s winter here and soh I thought we’re winter dormant. Do you think I should wait until March?

Hii does anyone had success with planting the tubers? I had spider mites and my plant died so I dried to take the healthy once from the soil and see if I can produce a new vine. so far it didn't grow nevertheless it had roots already. Any tips and time frame to know how long to wait. Thank you.

Hi Ashley, thanks for your videos. I'm very grateful for them. I inherited this plant from mum and it is not doing so well. I have repotted it with new well draining soil. The roots on the bulbs were very intense so I trimmed them down and pulled some roots of the bulbs to make them neat. Have I ruined it even more?

Your soil is too dry so leaves can't grow well

Siti Alamsyah no, in this case it was not lack of water, like I said, this was a severe mealie bug infestation that killed the stems and prevented uptake of water. I let it dry out to repot, and they are growing back well! 🥰

Kathlene McClain She did...... multiple times. She said it was regular potting soil mixed with pumice. The new pot will be the same but with a little bark added to help retain moisture.

MonsterShug Thank you, but I was hoping for something a little more specific regarding the composition considering there are a slew of different potting soils out there with different ingredients. Since some plants are quite finicky about what soil they’re in and what ph it is. However further research told me that any medium will work as long as it’s well draining.

Kathlene McClain I can see why specific brands and exact measurements usually aren’t mentioned. Advice gives you the right route to follow and it’s up to you to tweak the small details to fit your environment and what will work for you. Plus branding isn’t uniform worldwide. I’m glad you all got it to work out.

Wow almost dead. Volume low and KZbin and my system volume and external speakers on highest. Just so you know for later. Need a headset to hear every word. On highest then I can hear you, but not good if I forget to turn it all down when I leave to go listen to more it will blast the house out and everyone in it lol.
