Eric Clapton - Royal Albert Hall - 28/02/1991 (As broadcast by the BBC)

I used to really enjoy listening and indeed recording the BBC Radio 1 In Concert series on a Saturday evening during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. I still have the cassette tapes and as the BBC has no immediate plan to make these available to the public I have decided to release close to 250 of these historical recordings on my KZbin channel.

Tuned into this by accident commuting back from London in '91. Rang home to ask me wife to record it. All Your love was playing; just the best I've ever heard it played. Thank you so much for replacing my worn out cassette recording! Blues at its very best......

I was there for the Blues Night on 25th February 1991 and 9 Piece Band on 17th February 1991. I have the original Radio 1 transmissions on Hi-Fi VHS tapes.

Superb stuff and ace quality, Phil, thankx! Lucky the announcer was asleep (or tied up) most of the time... For anyone wondering, this was the ncredible lineup: Jimmie Vaughan guitar/vocals, Johnnie Johnson piano/vocals, Chuck Leavell keyboards, Jerry Portnoy harmónica, Joey Spampinato bass, Jamie Oldaker drums - plus in the second half Albert Collins, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy!!! How good can it get?! All set for a 30-year revisit on 28.10.21!

Y no viene a Chile! No se entiende eso. Quizás es porque la última vez que estuvo en 2011, lo cambiaron del Estadio Nacional (recinto grande) al Arena Movistar (recinto más chico) todo porque venía el mocoso de Justin Bieber. Pero bueno, he tenido la suerte de verlo el 90, el 2001 y el 2011, y es y será para algunos uno de los más grandes, pero para mí, simplemente el mejor GOAT.

Oh yes, he is so weak that the other excellent guitarists who accompany him are there to help him sound good LOL. Eric Clapton is a legend in his own right, and everyone without distinction, including those who accompany him on stage in this recording, not only have respect for him, but admiration and affection, and that is why they have joined him, for free, as well as so many other guitarists and musicians, every time he has done the Crossroads Guitar Festival.
