Praying for a successful surgery and for the hands of the doctors that will be performing it. This fibroid situation is so prevalent among us black women. Out of the four sisters, two of us have had the surgery. I remember it being very painful once I started to drive again. Take care and be blessed.

My mom and three of her four daughters, including myself, all had fibroids. I also had an open myomectomy but I'm in the states, so I can definitely empathize with you. Three of us had to eventually have a hysterectomy for all of the reasons that you mentioned. However, the good news is that we were all able to have kids naturally prior to. Sounds like you shouldn't have any issues since it is on the outside. Praying for you Sis. The Most High has you covered. 🙏🏾

A Liberian woman from the East Coast here who has it. My OGYN has been monitoring it and says it too small for surgery. I have heavy cramps and heavy bleeding during my period. I'm always anemic. The pain is extreme. I wish you all the best during your care in Ghana. 🙏🏽 Be well.

You are so pretty dear! Wishing you a safe and successful surgery and healing process. Fibroids also are caused by diary products as well as from relaxers and chemicals for ethnic hair. Just a suggestion to have them test you for cervical cancer. A youtuber passed away quite recently in the US due to misdiagnosis saying she had fibroid when it was actually cervical cancer and it was caught late. She left her husband and two young daughters behind. It does not hurt to be extra cautious. I actually can not remember her name. Praying 🙏🏿 that all will be well!

Thanks for your thoughts but as I stated it is hereditary in my case. I’m familiar with the story God rest your soul I am getting excellent care here on the continent, which people overlook a lot. Black women tend to run into issues in the U.S. healthcare system at a high rate blessed to be here
