One of the most euphoric guitar compositions ever recorded. "Alchemy" is an apt name for this sublime work of art. Over a lifetime on stage, the blues/rock guitar wizardry of Mr. Phillip Sayce has aged to perfection in emotional nuance, melodic flow, timing, and sparseness when needed.

Karo French albert king used a flying v with humbuckers. SRV use to visit Albert in concert when he was a kid. its SRVs tone. he used huge strings tuned down half a step, boosted the valve amp with a tubescreamee, played hard with high action.

This guy may be interesting to listen to (for about a minute), but he is not anywhere close to the league of world class (Bonnamassa, Mayer...). This performance is not even a song, just noodling and trying to show off riff chops...like you might find kids doing in any Guitar Center on any day.
@randallstaffordcook4 жыл бұрын
at least you know who to compare him to
@ziggamaras4 жыл бұрын
Do you even blues bro? Does SRV on Lenny, noodling around or Jimi on Liitle Wing? Come'on that man is a beast who knows how to play the guitar
@meisterjubjub76064 жыл бұрын
If you call this noodling then you don't have ears. And Philip is on another level. He has songs of all kinds. From songs that are completely instrumental like these, to songs with no guitar solo. Maybe if you actually cared to venture into who a player is before you label them something you'd discover your new favourite guitarist. Philip has songwriting to back up his chops. If you can only listen to his stuff for a minute, it goes to show that you're someone who wouldn't be able to appreciate blues if it hit you right in the face. And if ordinary Guitar Center noodling was this good, I'd never want to leave the store.
@meisterjubjub76064 жыл бұрын
@@ziggamaras EXACTLY. People forget that the most emotional songs in players' arsenal are sometimes the wordless, long instrumental songs. For The Love Of God, Lenny, Rude Mood, Always With Me Always With You, Cliffs Of Dover, the list goes on and on. And only 2 of those songs are blues songs. Traditional songwriting is great, but Stevie's live performance of Lenny at the Spectrum made me tear up right at the end because of how he chooses to release the tension that was built up throughout the whole song. That rarely happens for someone like me
