This guy is underrated... forreal. He's like da SRV of today...n vocally he's better den da older blues players to. He got da old school feel. I like it

@@philfrank9226 yah thats kinda of true...but he's just doing what he loves. Its like a service job really--the whole Strat warrior thing has been done to death, but for some people its still cool.

@@dmgjgamm4743 can you do it? And no there isn’t a bunch of players that have this level of speed. I can do srv stuff all day but not with this type of speed for that long. The guys that are out there that base there sound off of 83-85 Stevie don’t do it this well

This guy is insane for real. Blues Guitar playing is perfect for real. Thought KWS was the best at stevies style, but this guys playing is crazy. The anger without the rage is there. Playing extremely fast but with feel is there aswell. He is also doing so many things at once, the harmonics, octaves, striking the strings before the fret, experimenting with bends, he even managed to pull out some dirty pool too. i can go on and on.. arghhh.. ;... Why isnt he mainstream :(

That is a very good question that you asked there at the end why isn't he mainstream?

@@Nitsua_Atayha Incredible huh ......he's widely regarded....he played with Healy and for years was Mellisa Etheridge's guitar player ......what is "mainstream" these days ? ......As far as I'm concerned he is .......we are commenting on him ....no ? .......I honestly cant remember the last time I turned on the radio to listen to music .....and when I do it's the same 5 songs anyway. ....Mainstream has changed these days .......and the ones that appreciate good music ....like us ....know when we hear it. Some of the best players I've ever seen were at a local bar. Go out and see them ....support them 👍

Mainstream today are some badly programmed drums with a kid that spits out words with a spelling that his english teacher wont recognize as a part of any language at all. There's no room for guitar in todays music at all. Sad, but true.

Kinder to a Stratocaster? If you wanna rock like SRV or Hendrix you don't go easy on those things.
@davidcotton69994 жыл бұрын
Such a great Strat player! That vibrato! Malmsteen and Sayce have the best vibrato of any living guitarists for sure. But . . . They both share the same problem, they both overplay all the time. You need to build up to the fast and furious stuff, especially in a slow blues. Here Sayce is going wild even before the first verse. It's a shame he can't seem to pace himself, because apart from that he is my favourite player right now.
@zozovaca4 жыл бұрын
Well, you are partially right but...actually, i love his playing, among other things, because of that wild attitude. His passion drives him, he is not "calculated" player, for sure. He can go insane before the first verse, and then calm down much, much, later... Don't know, passion is the most important thing in playing, imho. His solo "stories" are not systematic, rational... they are chaotic, like life it self, lol!

yeah this cat can play the hell out of that guitar but I think Albert would've pulled the plug, I'd still applaud though.
@keithremedy3 жыл бұрын
@@karlsmith3281 he lives up the street from me. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned to him that he overplays before but he’s said that’s what people pay to see. People do the same thing with Bonamassa. Also why do you think you some how would know what Albert King would hypothetically think of someone, kind of a dumb thing to bring up considering everyone knows He already had a prodigy playing in his shadow

On this cruise they don't have the late night jams. Joe did have Eric, Bernie, Robert Randolph and Larkin Poe sit in with him during his sets. But not Philip. I would have loved to have seen them jam together as well. Eric had Larkin Poe and Joe join him each on a song on his sets and Toronzo Cannon had Philip sit in on a song on his, but unfortunately I wasn't at that one.
