Two questions: 1- Should the company cleaning my ducts show me what they've done as you have? 2- What about cleaning the air handler? Not cleaning that out seems to be like getting an oil change but not changing the filter. Thanks.
@jeremydunn99784 жыл бұрын
So what happens in the corners of the ducts. The brushs can't hit the corners thoroughly. Round ducts yes.

How is brush vs negative air? Which one is better for regular home? For a technician, negative air is easier setup maybe hook it up to one vent only instead of brush that has to go to many vents.

He does a good job demonstrating how his company cleans ducts, though he blew out into the house a large amount of dust/dirt during his video demonstration. If I was the home owner I'd not be pleased that he did that. The process he uses appears to be the type that many duct cleaning service providers who use much stronger negative pressure/vacuum pumps and much larger/wider vacuum hoses are warning against.

Ram air: I appreciate the process and the visible clear viewpoints when cleaning out a floor supply, but how do you clean out a ceiling or high wall supply? How do you secure or seal the clear view housing?
@trixdropd7 жыл бұрын
Ram air is the scam air. Beware.
@PhilipDallmeier6 жыл бұрын
I don't use the Ram system. In California we rarely run into floor vents so we are constantly doing supplies that are either on the ceiling or wall. We hook our vacuum hose in the duct and then seal it with plastic to create a seal for suction.

What is the cost average for that job you just performed? Thanks for sharing the information
@PhilipDallmeier6 жыл бұрын
I believe it was 350$-400$. Our cost is based on a per vent charge or 35$-40$ per vent. A typical 10 vent home is around 350$ for customers that are near us. That’s kind of the middle ground.
@explaincauseidontgetit32946 жыл бұрын
A-1 Duct Cleaning & Chimney Sweep thank you! I called a local company and they’re coming in two weeks. I don’t know if they have that rotating brush and I really really need that bc I feel like it actually scrubs the duct work! But, they have a base rate of 375$ for 10 vents, no hidden charges. We have 23 registers so it will cost us a little over 600$. They charge 20$ a vent after their base 10 vents. We are moving into an old farm house that has oil for heat and I opened the return air register and I almost passed out. It’s like black cobwebs and PILES of dust. It’s a wreck. I will be doing this once a year from here on out. Thanks for all the information!

Really good video. We live in Michigan in a a 41 year old ranch home that I don't think ever had the vents cleaned! I know YIKES. I have watched a few cleaning videos. Your system seems the most logical. Our already established Heating/cooling company uses: "VENTCORP is known for the most advanced cleaning methods and equipment available in Michigan and our duct cleaning process stays true to that. “Commercial Grade,” truck-mounted vacuums with the ability to be revved up to extremely high CFMs and 38 Hepa vacuum bags! Along with the powerful vacuum units, we use huge air compressors capable of blasting out air at 200 PSI. ...I know this may not be enough to go on but the brushes/compression and vacuum would seem to clean better, especially since it has never been done. Would you recommend I continue searching for one that uses brushes as you do? I just want to optimize my chances of breathing better and getting off the meds I had to start after living here for 5 years. Thank you for your time, video and any response. Karen

There are many options. Portable units are good for tight spaces and some can be very powerful. Truck mounts are very good but can get very pricy. Hypervac, Heat Seal, CaddyVac and W. M. Meyer and Sons are just a few of the many manufacturers of duct cleaning equipment. I recommend you do your research on what would work best for your budget.

while you clean one vent are all the other vents sealed ?or is that not necessary
@PhilipDallmeier6 жыл бұрын
yasin171 They are not sealed. It is not necessary when using this method. The dust is sucked out through the opening that is being cleaned. There are some cases where we will seal the ducts, usually commercial when using air compression tools. This is not the case in this video.

Change my mind if I'm wrong, but shouldn't this never need to be done on return ducts if you change/clean your furnace filters?
@PhilipDallmeier6 жыл бұрын
Cognitive Disorder Yes, even if you have change your filter it will eventually have to be done. How ever with regular filter change it makes it so you can wait 5-7 years in between cleanings. With out a filter you may have to do it annually. If you notice in this video the dust is a super fine power, similar to talcum powder. Without everything gets in there. If you see our before and after video a lot of those photos are systems without filters.
@michaelbaker97467 жыл бұрын
I hired a lot of duct cleaners there all the best They say they are any way. They don't do any better then you. They have very expensive equipment . Your service is simple and good. thank you. If at the end the ducts are clean that's the point. good job.
@trixdropd7 жыл бұрын
They aren't.
@PhilipDallmeier6 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I have cleaned thousands of ducts with our system. I always gets the dust extracted. In the the video I was cleaning an unsealed Return Duct and the vacuum was able to keep up with all the agitated dust and debris. And that's the big one. Also the air compression whip blows it all back to the opening so nothing is left. Same applies for the rotary cable brush.
@mikel95676 жыл бұрын
They aren't all the same. There is a reason companies come out with huge, expensive vacuum trucks. Because they work. Shop vac's and portable systems just aren't as effective. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see a HEPA system in this video either. A HEPA filter on a shop vac is not the same as the big HEPA filters used by legit pro's. No, hooking two vacuum cleaners up, doesn't double their power either. I wouldn't waste my money on this guy.
@madcowusa42775 жыл бұрын
You sold me on how effective you can clean ducts. That was interesting even though I just spent 2 days in a urine smelling, spider infested crawl space disassembling and cleaning 6" metal ducts. Well at least they're now sealed properly and insulated and I know my system better.
