It was Lily's choice, and I'm not anti porn but the fact she didn't know that you can get HIV from oral was really concerning. It's important for sex workers of any kind to know how diseases can be transmitted and the fact she didn't seem to know or care genuinely does make me worry about these being self harming behaviors. in the end though she's a grown adult and while I can worry it's not my place as an internet stranger to tell her to stop. I hope she's okay.

I agree, I kind of think she needs a better team. Someone on her team should be educating her about the risks she clearly doesn't understand she's taking. if she doesn't know about HIV, does she know about any of the other STIs she could get? Is she aware of the risk of infection if she isn't properly lubricated or doesn't wash the ejaculate from her eyes? It feels like she's very young and not well educated on sex as an act and it just feels like she needs an older, much more experienced sex worker on her team to educate her.

The Lily Phillips situation had problems that all stemmed from logistics. Her & her team should have spend *at least* a MONTH not only vetting the participants, but making sure they knew *what* was expected of them and what they were *allowed* to do. Honestly, even if it meant they had fewer applicants, they should have signed a contract!

Contracts, security, extensive screening, a face to face interview between her and every single successful applicant, medical professionals on standby before, during, and after, extensive legal counsel on potential issues, and a mandatory mental health check-in before AND afterwards. So many things needed to happen that just straight up didn't because she is a complete newbie to this kind of thing, and it doesn't really seem like anyone from her "team" really sat down with her and both stressed the importance of safety here and was in her corner during, either. Someone should have been present to pull people off of her after their allotted time was up, if necessary. The fact that no one did, that no one was willing to do something like that, shows that nobody there truly cared about her safety and well-being. That whole situation was a textbook lesson in people not knowing what the hell they're doing.

Best comment. It is amazing what the porn industry (especially non-Western) is allowed to get away with. Western porn themes are pretty damn tame. Foreign films can get really horrendous by our standards and the women that participate in those _must_ experience psychological damage. Even if it is a fantasy, there’s a reason that we moderate the themes so heavily in the West.

A big part of the reason it took Buzzfeed this long to sell First We Feast (they've been trying for like a year and a half) is ironically *because* of Sean Evans. Sean Evans IS the brand - what if someone paid $70 million (the initial asking price) and then Sean just decided to up and leave 6 months later? Then you just paid $70 million for bupkis. Sean having more of an ownsership/executive role was essential for any kind of deal to go through.

Yall are wild. She basically just ran a sex marathon. Sex aside, it is an amazing physical feat. I can't tell you if she had fun or not. It sounds like she was just concerned that all of her guests were not having a good time (like any good host would). As for the guys; it's very possible that homeboy freaked out after he learned how many guys fucked her before he got a shot. It takes a certain kind of man to be fully ok with sloppy 80ths (usually pros). Since these men do not seem to be pros, they probably are not mentally cut out for it.

With Lily’s story, first the documentary was great, very well done. However, I’m concerned she’s not aware of the risk of HPV, which can in some cases lead to throat or ovarian cancer. Even when using protection you can contract HPV quite easily. Your body can fight it off, but equally it can turn to cancer.
@sourgreendolly7685
@sourgreendolly7685 Күн бұрын
Adding to the concern: there's no test for male HPV, most cases are without symptoms (especially in men), and HPV can lie dormant in your body for years. That said, point of clarification: 80% of human adults have some form of HPV in their lives and it's definitely *not* equally likely to lead to cancer - most often your body fights it off just fine. She's obviously at a much higher risk than the average human adult and that should be taken seriously but I do think it's important to be clear on the facts.

About the Lily's story: I don't think she is a victim. It was her idea. She organised it. She is an adult woman that can make her own decisions. She announced that she wants to do it again, but TEN times bigger. Is it a stupid idea? Yes. Do I think she has some psychological issues to do that? Probably. But I'm not in the position to say her anything. It's not my business what she is doing to herself unless it's affecting me personally.

When are we going to stop coddling ignorant people? If an adult thinks putting their hand on the hot stove is what they want and they wind up getting burned a little, why does this culture still perpetuate sexist ideals that we need to step in and do something if they're a woman? I know people living almost exclusively on the internet instead of going out and seeing what really happens in the real world is very prevalent right now, but there is definitely something more to it than just that.

Sure her team messed up, but she's part of that team and didn't even realize that STI's can be passed through oral sex. She is the one in charge of her team, so everything that is her teams fault, is ultimately her fault. Men breaking the rules of the event isn't grape unless she told them no. Breaking arbitrary rules isn't against the law. Her feeling like she has to let them keep going, is again her own fault. It is her responsibility as the event organizer and participant to be a responsible adult and set and enforce boundaries.

It is self harm on a massive, public scale. She didn’t even understand how HIV is spread, and I think that’s to do with the fact that Gen Z didn’t have to grow up during, or at the latter end of the AIDS epidemic. I was a child in the 90’s and AIDS was still very much center stage; education was constantly happening. We’d come to know how it’s spread, how to avoid it and that you can’t catch it by hugging or being around someone. But bc younger Millenials and Gen Z didn’t grow up with HIV/AIDS being talked about non-stop and being told how to avoid it, I feel this younger generation behind us, hasn’t lived with seeing people die from it, so they falsely feel it’s no longer dangerous or a high risk. I’m a Millennial and I’m stunned by her seeming lack of STD awareness and concern for her own future prospects and health. On top of the damage to her mental health, this will be what she’s known for, forever. That’s just facts. I’m sorry for her and I hope she stops.

Maybe she went to a Catholic school without sex Ed, because public schools definitely still put the fear of God in you about sleeping without a condom as long as they still have sex Ed, it's like the only purpose of it. They don't really explain the reality of why it's not great to have multiple sexual partners. Essentially every time you sleep with someone you are exposing yourself to them AND everyone they ever slept with. Unless they get a STD test before sleeping with you, and you can trust that it's real then you are essentially sleeping with every partner they have ever slept with. Even with an STD test, it doesn't test for everything, and isn't always perfectly effective, so there is still a substantial risk.

Clearly, her “team” doesn’t fully appreciate what supporting her would be like. I don’t really watch porn (not against it if it’s consensual), but even I know that trying to do the proper safeguards in a situation like this as an uninformed sex worker is basically impossible. A sex therapist and other professional porn actors/sex workers should have been involved to not necessarily dissuade her, but help her fully grasp what she was getting into.

The safeguards you’re talking about need to be put in place by the onlyfans models. But it’s still a much safer option than traditional porn and gives the power back to the women completely. My partner works in the online adult entertainment industry, and creates exclusively solo content. The reason is that, while it can absolutely make more money to create content with random people, it’s just inherently *SIGNIFICANTLY* less safe. All it takes is one person who fakes an STI test, one person who doesn’t follow the rules, one person who decides to not respect consent, and suddenly you have a very serious and life-altering situation on your hands. There’s a reason that when large professional studios make content like this, it takes months of planning, logistics, and vetting before the shoot, and very tight security, contracts, and lots of support staff the day of the shoot. It feels like this had much less planning, logistics, and support throughout, and it’s a shame. Also to the point that the envelope is constantly being pushed in that space, that’s absolutely true. While it’s become much easier for the average person to get into the industry, that’s meant that it becomes MUCH harder to stand out from the crowd. If you’re a performer and not willing to do something, there’s someone else out there who IS (either for enjoyment or from desperation), and there is also always someone willing to do it for less. There is a proverbial “race to the bottom” going on, so I expect stories like this to pop up more and more, especially once you see the financial incentives on the back end to creating more (and more eye-catching) content.

She (at the time "he") was expelled from multiple schools for threatening the unaliving of herself and others, constantly a menace on society. In her late teens, she began her transition and became far more gentle and softspoken and has been able to heal mentally and emotionally, all in all being a better person for it. We have our personal reasons for not speaking to each other, but I still respect her transition and argue that it SAVED her, and probably others', lives.

The situation with Lily Philips is very complicated. She’s seen a lot of negative press but if anything I just feel bad. I wouldn’t necessarily see a problem with it if safe guards are in place. Regarding the Lily Phillips situation, I think the main issue here is the seeming lack of preparation and due diligence that went into the event. Even a quick search on Google will show that this is far from the first time someone has done something like this and with higher counts too. It's just that most other times, they tend to have been for a professional shoot (that hopefully had more thorough vetting). And that this time, the person was given a platform that reached mainstream audiences and attention.

I've had two comments and I'm of three minds about the 100 people situation because I don't know how KZbin is censoring today, Lily did decide to do this. If it was her management who put it in her head and they were the driving forces they should have put more checks and balances in, if it was mainly her or a cooperative effort then she failed with basic due diligence about safety because she didn't know how intimately transmitted diseases work, It sucks that she didn't do this like some other events, because she was not the first woman who decided to have intimacy with loads of men on camera. She may be one of the first who decided to do it behind closed doors for each man individually, there should have been more checks and balances making sure when that time is up someone comes in be like "get the F out" type thing maybe give you a 20-second buffer "if you have to go a little longer go but that's it" but it seems like that wasn't in place so it was just poorly thought out.

It's going to be a long write up, but it's deeply important context for the UK puberty blockers story at 16:35: The report Streeting cites does not have a 'lack of evidence' issue, the issue is the Cass report dismisses every study that is not 'double-blind' as invalid which is every positive study on the subject. Upon dismissing these studies, they conclude, 'there's not enough evidence', making the issue seem more contested than it actually is. The reason double-blind studies do not matter in this context, outside major ethical issues that would come with carrying out a double-blind study on puberty blockers: It's physically impossible. If you cannot tell which patient was given which hormone, you shouldn't be a doctor. As chances are, the patient growing breasts might have been given estrogen, the one with a beard etc. etc. The author of the Cass report actually walked it back due to these very issues, yet the UK government is still citing it, without once addressing a single issue brought up with it by anybody in the medical field. If you take all the information at face value without dismissing valid evidence for invalid reasons, you end up with the obvious conclusion that we keep coming to time and again: Trans healthcare helps trans people. The bigger story here is that Wes Streeting, a man with no background within practising medicine, is being allowed to dictate medical practices on the basis of either intentional maliciousness, a zealot ant-trans prejudice, or genuine ignorance. If it were your healthcare or anybody else's, and you were concerned about something and wanted a doctor to look at it, you likely would not be satisfied if this politician, stood at the back of the room, haphazardly trying to advise the doctor, and saying 'trust me' whenever the doctor said he was reading the charts wrong. The fact that any person without a career in practising medicine is allowed to overstep actual doctors and experts shows the state of the UK government. Keep in mind, as stated, puberty blockers are not banned for minors, just transgender minors. Any minors with growth issues will still have access to them without an issue. Which further highlights the absurdity of the ban. The patterns of medical apathy heavily remind me of the HIV pandemic, and will equally lead to countless avoidable deaths. Another important note of context for this video in particular: The video editor showed a picture of Tavistock at 22:54 as an example of the 'contested nature' within Europe, but the same organization did a 10-year, peer reviewed, long-term study on puberty blockers and came to the conclusion that it helps almost everybody on there with unusually high numbers for any medical study, let alone this one. & The European Academy of Paediatrics who are cited in the quote said in the exact same text quoted that "Puberty blockers may be justified in those severely troubled by lack of congruence between gender identity and sex, as delaying puberty and proceeding to transition may be less harmful than the long-term consequences of GnRH-a therapy." - The quote cited was specific, and out of context I think it is unintentionally misleading.

@@jesusbarrera6916 This is extremely poor reasoning. The same reasoning would dismiss the Covid-19 vaccine for not specifically being created to deal with Covid-19, despite all evidence showing it benefiting Covid-19 patients. Nearly to all forms of modern medicine derive from a different use case. Penicillin was not invented with the idea of creating penicillin in mind, the discovery of its benefits were retroactive. Also, arguing that blocking puberty for trans children is a different use case for blocking puberty for any child in a medical context doesn't make sense to me. the practice is the same and would vary on which blocker (yes, there is more than one) is used, regardless of who it is being given to. So I don't even agree with your premise. Your argument seems entirely motivated by biases within your perspective of trans people being 'other', but remove that and the whole position does not work, even slightly.

Yeah, apart from the obvious logistical issues with Lilly Phillips, which really should have been solved. This feels akin to people seeing 50 Shades and thinking all BDSM is like that. If you engage in any kind of extreme consensual sex you need to be appropriately prepared for the come down, to have comfort and to have support when the "scene" ends. It can bring up emotions, but that doesn't mean it wasn't what you wanted. Even as a professional, immediately asking her questions that require her to validate her decisions is not going to be what you need in that moment.

On the puberty blockers thing - there are plenty of young people who go on blockers for early puberty or other health issues, and there are no safety concerns there. Also, there are lots of trans adults who were trans kids, who went on blockers, and no one has bothered to follow up with them or see if they had negative or positive outcome etc.

going on puberty blockers for precocious puberty to delay puberty until a normal age is very different than going on them to delay normal puberty for an indeterminate time, and by default comes with a different risk/benefit profile that requires different, well done randomized controlled trials. And there are enough cases of teenagers saying they felt rushed through the process, who regret their decisions, or who have detransitioned that we should all be concerned, both for those who are harmed by the treatment, and for the harm it does politically to the acceptance movement writ large. The problem is the state of the evidence is so very weak, and it is a deep problem that a medical question everywhere else has become political in the US. There is currently no good evidence that these treatments are effective for minors. Even assuming the massive increase in trans youth we've seen in the last decade is purely because of increased awareness, we did not have an epidemic of suicide prior to the mid 2010s, which in my estimation corroborates with the fact that we have no good evidence that minors who don't get puberty blockers and hormones are at an increased risk of suicide (troublingly, some evidence even suggests receiving treatment could increase the suicidality in some populations (this isn't strong evidence either, and though we tend to have a lower threshold in discussions of harm, still take it with a grain of salt, obviously)

see, this is what people who have zero knowledge of this area of care. 1. trans affirming healthcare-- what is being blocked in this bill-- is so many other things other than hormone blockers. it can be speech therapy, or counseling. 2. hormone blockers do exactly that. when a child is pre-pubesent, it pauses hormones so they have the time to go thru all the steps they need to to make sure they want to go that route. never mind that the de-trainsitioning is so rare as to be almost non-existant, hormone blockers are safe, and the least harmful option even if they should decide they don't want to transition. if they decide against it, they simply stop taking the blockers, and they hit puberty just like everyone else. there is LITERALLY NO HARM DONE. i don't know how to say this any clearer. hormone blockers are the best thing you can do for a trans or questioning kid. it's just a pause button that will prevent them from going thru so much pain.

Puberty blockers and hormones are harm mitigation. It takes a lot of counseling and informed consent to get on them as a minor. The whole purpose of harm mitigation is that even if there are risks, they are still lower danger than the harm that would happen otherwise. Think of it like surgery. Surgery is not safe. There are plenty of people that die or get permanent damage from surgeries. The reason we do surgeries is the outcomes are almost always better after surgery than otherwise.@@GuineaParents

Hey Phil, trans woman here who just became an adult and was lucky enough to start hormones at 17. If I wasn't able to get the care that I started when I was 16 I genuinely don't think I'd be here today. The years before my transition I was a bored, apathetic, kid that didn't really care much about the future. And although transitioning didn't solve everything, it made me want to care to do more with my life. It gave me hope. It gave me a future that I genuinely cared for and wanted to work towards. I could imagine myself happy. All of these bans just seem to be putting more kids who were like me in danger of never being able to live out happy lives. Politicians are playing with the lives of trans children and it's sick. These medications have been researched for decades and are completely fine when used for the care of cis kids. But as soon as trans kids want them it becomes something we need to panic over it. This is only exemplified by how the ban in UK doesn't affect cis kids who need them to delay an early puberty I know some people might say, "Why can't you just wait until you're an adult". And to that I say you don't know the anguish and the horror of having to watch your body slowly slip into something that isn't yours, that you're disgusted by. Watch the one of the primary ways people see you and understand you slowly become the exact opposite of how you see yourself, possibly permanently. To know that your body is changing into something you loathe and there's nothing you can do to change it. I was lucky enough to only experience it for a few months since I was able to get hormones a year after coming out at 16. And I had really supportive family and friends to help me get through the first year. But to go through that experience without the knowledge that there is a way out soon. Especially if that knowledge comes with the fact that I don't have a strong support system and I live in an area that doesn't accept me. It creates a feeling of hopelessness in a lot of kids that can really fuck up their last years of adolescence and first years of adulthood. I hate to see the younger generations be denied the same opportunity to happiness that I was granted.

Not following those simple protocols, that a professional in any field should know are monumentally important in any context, let alone sex, is not only irresponsible, but sexual exploitation at the least and sexual assault at the worst. She needs a better team of people around her who care about her well-being and not making a quick buck off of her. Well run ETHICAL porn shoots are run like the fucking navy with STI screenings, intimacy coordination, and breaks. The independence of OnlyFans creators doesn't meet those industry standards and puts everyone at risk.

Well, that Hot Ones story was quite a roller coaster. First you had me worried by mentioning it, then I was happy to see them achieving greater success, and then finally you reminded how much Buzzfeed otherwise sucks.

I really think there should be more focused on the men that didn’t follow the rules, sex is what you consent to any thing other than that is not sex and at minimum SA, and i really don’t see how anyone can argue against that when what she consented to is, well I don’t know if it was written down, but was told to each guy before they participated.

Five topics to fix society via discussion: -Anti-natalism vs Natalism -The 3 basic needs/prenatal needs Three things necessary for human evolution that are provided while in the womb which are; food, shelter and medical care. -Platinum rule Do whatever makes one happier unless it interferes with another persons ability to do the same. -MBTI (research yours and connect with others) -Art (pick one and get better at it!)

It feels very frustrating to me that the people who decide whether or not trans people get care are politicians and judges who don't have the education that doctors do. Like the Hipocratic Oath says to first do no harm, so doctors aren't going to do anything that they think will harm a patient. These laws and rulings are so dehumanizing to trans people for no reason other than cruelty.

I'm disgusted with the whole OF situation itself. There's a part of me that really wonders how much she was talked into this. I want to know how much money the people on her team were making. I'm just a random guy from Alaska and yet I can come up with a million reasons a member of my team should not go through with this. The monetary value is not worth the potential self-harm you could be causing

Sex work is work. Was what she did risky? Yes. This is why these platforms need regulation and compulsory medical education and checks to ensure events like this are safe and boundaries kept for everyone involved. But it truly isnt any different to any daredevil or escape artist stunt. If sex work stigma is removed then proper training and safeguards can more easily be put in place just like a stunt actor.
