The stage is too small for the rendition.of the Mindanao Suite. The bamboo clapping drowned the kulintangan. The Pangalay, Vinta, and Malong dance sequences would have made the Singkil spectacular. I prefer the choreography of Ramon Obusan Folklorico and the Bayanihan which are well researched. The costumes are geared to glitzy Las Vegas. Nonetheless, the effort at preserving the Philippine traditions is commendable!

Filipinos are not Malay or Melayu as you suggest. We filipinos are Maharlikans/Austronesians. Malay/Melayu people, also evolved from Austronesian race of Taiwan. The Austronesians wandered and first set foot in the Philippines/Maharlika thousands of years ago and spread down to Malaysia and Indonesia, across Pacific islands and as far as Madagascar in Africa. Meaning your malay race evolved from us Maharlikans. That's a fact!

And majority of filipinos before spanish colonization were Pagans, Anito worshippers and Hindus not muslims. Muslims then were minorities until now.
