Troussier also struggled against Hong Kong, barely winning on a penalty. Don’t speak on our football. Of course no one can compare to park hang seo era, but it’s not just without park, the Vietnamese team under Troussier was one of the worse in all of Vietnamese history. Even this current coach is much better, even if Vietnam still isn’t as good as PHS era. Vietnam scoring more goals under him than Troussier, who promised more “attacking possesion” football. The same players benched are the same ones that this new manager Kim sang sik is playing right now. How does that make any sense? Benching players from your previous golden generation? They might not be in their prime as good as before, but they are definitely still good enough to be starting considering park JUST left… I’m sure you have seen the photos of quang hai crying and getting frustrated on the bench in Vietnams 0-3 loss to indonesia. He did not play a single minute in those two matches. What is the logic? Troussier tried to completely erase parks team with younger players, which made no sense. Vietnam was not struggling with the seniors, they were in a golden generation. Why are you benching them? Some of Troussier player selections like Thai son who was actually starting in the 11 wasn’t even selected by new manager Kim sang sik for this AFF squad. Do you see that it is literally a different team? We see in AFF right now how good quang hai is doing. Clearly still Vietnams best player. Where was he in Troussier era? Bench. Where is the thinking? Even when he was on the field, Troussier used him completely wrong.

Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Australia, China, and Bahrain are pretty much on the same level. Vietnam lost to Australia or Saudi Arabia before even during PHS era in 2022. So losing to China or Indonesia I feel like doesn't really mean Vietnam now is worse than PHS era.
