Don't get hung up on the stadium. If there was a better one, the Filipinos would have used it. Just a few years back in the Suzuki cup, there's not even a stadium that meets the federation standards we had to play our home game in Indonesia! Go figure! The more important thing is that football here has grown by leaps and bounds in the last ten years. We're still behind our Asean neighbors for sure, but we're closing the gap. That's still good news.

This is why I kinda hate Etheridge joining the squad at the last minute, he wasted the slot and contributed nothing. Coaching staff was already grooming Falky to be the #1 keeper for the AFF cup then Etheridge came 2 days before the tournament. His spot could have been used for a defender coming from Phil or Thai league. If Etheridge was omitted, he will throw tantrums like what he did in 2014. He loves PH so much but he should give others a chance. At least Sato and Strauss made positive contributions in the group stage while Etheridge only played one game and didn't even touch the ball. Palla was called up by Buriram for mysterious reasons. Woodland was injured for the rest of the tournament.

Vietnam still lucky this time...our main Gk is not there, he was called by his mother club in europe while 3 other players of ours were also called up by there mother clubs in europe at thesame time and 1 player also injured our striker and he is a game changer.
