If you did more investigation and were truly interested in an objective assessment, you would discover that this small group of fighters and their mentors and teachers, have already inspired in-kind donations, from around the world. Small though each bit of support is, each is appreciated and built upon. Unfortunately, fighters cannot eat donated clothes or second-hand equipment. This is a 4-part documentary series; perhaps judgement on a half-hour's worth of footage is premature. These young men are learning more than how to box, they are also learning how to live and to become positive forces in their local and global communities. I applaud them. Regardless of whether or not they ever become boxing champions, they have already won my heart.

It is always a boxer's decision to take the pains in boxing but good training and coaching is a must. It is better to be wise than to be sorry later. If boxing is not for you, then quit or follow training regimen that works for Manny and the great ones. That's all for now.

So true this story ... reminds me of when they put a bright young filipino boxing prospect in Jimrex Jaca against an experienced world champion in Juan Manuel Marquez, the result was predictable, although Jaca put up a valiant effort he was eventually badly beaten and KO'd in the 9th round by the crafty and seasoned veteran Marquez. Thanks so much for the story, it's good to get this out in the open so that people are aware of how a lot of promising careers are recklessly destroyed by the greed of others.

Is boxing in the Phillipines kind of like football is in Europe? Except with corruption? Because this looks like a self organized thing people do for fun, like where does the money come from? Do they pay to compete? Very good documentary by the way.
