I’m going generalise here but the poor provincial people when they’ve had a drink exhibit very dark tendencies..I’m sure you’ve seen what I’m talking about. I’ve stopped going to family reunions about two years ago as it’s just camps of the haves and have nots. I’m in my early 50’s ..I’ve given up the pretence of getting along with ill educated people, it’s condescending to them. I have about 20/30 guys work for me and the mindset is primitive. Give them a few drinks ..and ya have to listen to nonsensical drivel. The pretence they like you is to get something out of you, if it’s expedite to do so. The reality of living in the Philippines.

Seen one "bolo challenge event" started between a guy who just got out of Bilibid, 10 years for selling the debils lettuce, & his "friend" who did the buy bust. First night out he's started this drunk blue that has 200+ people gathered, does some bolo damage to the matron of the establishment, out of the shadows a yellow shirt Tanod steps & despatches the guy point blank. They throw a sheet over him & take the injured woman to hospital. In the morning the local PNP call in CDIG from Manila, by the time they arrive this sheet hasn't moved in 14 hours. His expiration certificate said the cause was "heart failure". Nobody saw anything.

That's a funny story. I just told my Piney gf about this story and she laughed and said, whenever people chip in for a lechon, then, after everyone finishes eating, if there's any lechon remaining it gets divided out. The amount of lechon people get should correspond to the amount they chipped in to buy it. So maybe that was what started the fight lol

not the 1st time i hear about a situation on family issues, it is actually common. for they tend to depend on someone picking up the bill. i put that to rest quick, don't lend out money don't lend out my car nor do i tend to borrow out the wife!!! don't ask my for money for i have to take care of my family and house hold, much less have to take care of another house hold. not my fault for the situation that they are in. sorry i don't drink nor smoke, and the wife loves it just like that. seen enough violence to last me a life time. it comes out like this because of the alcohol and the lack of civility. alcohol brings out the worst in people and their true self. worked in law enforcement for 25 years and there was always some narcotic or substance involved.

Years ago I would most likely be pleased getting invitations to parties when I was younger. I'm early 60,s now, gave up alcohol few years back. They are visayan words YAWA means devils incantation a demon 😂don't be surprise around there of BLADES there where times in there few decades or so, that everyone carry a side arms at all times for work or security (Blades), the situation your in is on a knife edge it could easily turn into a bloodshed, it's more like firing a gun into the air stating that they mean business that's the knife edge, if they really meant to kill each other they would have done so in seconds there would be no shouting there would be screaming afterwards when somebody is dead, not everyone carries a blade anymore but every house in the Philippines have blades in them including houses in the city, in a random occurrence (Public) you shouldn't try to brake this type of fight if your not sure if they turn the blade on you or could handle it yourself without exactly knowing what's going on, most people can't handle armed people, these one is a heated family fight which the trigger is the lechon 🤣 I suspected other things where brewing before hand, these sort of thing rarely end in death in the Philippines, these one end in jail 😂🤣all arrested, usually they calmed down sorted by the relatives😁 you should stay away from it, it's family matter you could get tangled in it which is not wise OK 👍👌😉😎✌.
