Amazing resilience. I took my wife phone shopping last month (her life ended when her's broke!@#$), limitless budget.....I was looking at the quality brands, she appeared with a cheaper one....Can't fault her approach. When questioned, she replied, I chose that one because my friend has this model....lol...No idea of quality, life expectancy etc. We will be shopping again before Xmas.

husband speaking age 81, 3 posts down, Bruce that the smallest gift makes the Filipino's happy. Since going to the PI since 1979 - that is true, a simple stick of gum will make kids smile, a candy bar, an old t-shirt or hat ok for the boys and a purse will make the girls super happy. You won't get an American to appreciate a simple gift as that, even getting a please or thank you out of the younger generation is almost impossible.

Maria is getting so big. She will be grown before you know it daddy. My baby got married a couple months ago and buying her first home. It's all bitter sweet, enjoy every minute.

Mark, those feed stores near you that support the farms can order you commercial fly traps. They are supposed to help with live stock. Horses, cattle, goats, etc. They also sell them here in the states. They are excellent at luring and trapping thousands and thousands of flies. It might be a special order item for them, but, you can always ask. I'm pretty sure. They are like, large plastic 5 gallon bags with a harmless to kids, bio agent, that attracts the hell out of flies. Farms use them to cut down on flys and their effect on livestock. You hang them on a pole, out of the reach of the kids, and they just work and work well. I am not sure, but they might cost $12 - $15 each. Cheaper in the PH. Cut down on the flies on the patio for sure.
