2:00 My grand moms hometown.. once you cross to other side to the sea, is a town name Atimonan, a place in Quezon in SouthernTagalog of Philippines, we go there yearly to go to beaches, vacation house, fishing , hunting, hiking many crazy insane stuff aswell my dream is to turn it to rally racing! The roads there. We call it a zigzag road. Many car accidents happened there thousand times including fish trucks involved. Be safe on roads like that. Wish you guys the best!

The gabi leaves wrapped in abaca twine and cooked in coconut is called pinangat. If it has pounded shrimps/small crabs/fish and even meat then it is called tinuktok.

I believe the "laing" you ate was "pinangat" also called "tinuktok". Its pounded shrimp and coconut wraped in gabi leaves cooked in coconut milk. Welcome to Bicol.

Hey guys, you are doing a very long ride down there. Jonathan needs extra strength and rest so both of you could be safe and away from accidents. Pray always for God's safety and guidance. Make sure you have enough sleep of at least 6 hours. Be extra careful as roads are really slippery when it rains, especially you both are just on a motorcycle. You were just at the gateway... Ypu should have gone up to Sorsogon, the land of natural spring wells. Bulusan National Park is a must-see and so is Subic Bay beach in Matnog among the many other tourist spots here.

WE USED TO RIDE TRAINS THEN TO LEGAZPI AND THEN A BUS TO SORSOGON WITH REALLY BAD ROADS 😊 THERE WAS NO BUS THAT TRAVELS THE SOUTH ROAD THEN, I WAS ON A TRAIN THAT GOT DERAILED TWICE, MANY BUS PROBLEMS😊 IT RAINS A LOT IN THE BICOL REGION, WHAT YOU ATE IN CAMALIG IS KINUNOT NA PAGI(STINGRAY COOKED IN COCONUT MILK) AND PANGAT WHICH IS A BICOLANO DELICACY AND POPULAR IN CAMALIG😊ITS DIFFERENT FROM LAING WHICH WE CALL "GULAY NA GABI"😊

Hi Susie & Jonathan .... get the pili nut and labuyo with gata (coco milk) meals and surf in Cam-Sur! 🌶🏄 And that is why the BAMBOO tree is so resilient that no storms will ever knock it down as you can see that it still blooms even it just made as a fence on a road. Like Filipnoes that are resilient as to what we say ourselves, "united we fall, united we stand!" Salamat and stay dry! 🌞

Kinunot is a stingray with coconut milk and malunggay. They have to boil first the sting ray. Then it will be de-boned. Skin is removed. Then the flesh will be torned down to small pieces, then this will be cooked with coconut milk. seasoned with onions, some ginger and/or lemon grass when it is about to be cooked they add chili and malunggaay leaves.
