I used to hide in the kitchen.. it's like end of the world. lmao.. at 5:00 pm you started to hear firework nearby to your house and it's getting louder and louder til 12am and it ends at 1am.. Only in the Philippines has the longest Christmas celebrations and longest fireworks 🎆 😅😂😂 gotta love my country! In Sydney Australia, where I'm based now, people have to camp a day early just to get a good view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera house fireworks and only lasted for 15 minutes max!!! As a Filipino, I am among those who light fireworks and firecrackers in the streets to greet the New Year. And just this midnight when we all welcomed the New Year 2025, I had been lighting crackling fountains and Bengal lights while jumping up and down for the sheer joy of it while all around my house everyone is lighting fountains and rockets and even the occasional Sinturon ni Hudas, blasting on the streets while the clock strikes 12 midnight. Apparently, despite the relatively stricted government regulations and restrictions regarding firecrackers and fireworks, it seems that the notion of celebrating the New Year with riotous fireworks revelry in the streets is part of the Filipino DNA. Ah yes. CNN, BBC and other major news organizations focus on the New Year revelry and celebrations of other countries and major cities in the world, just like that Ball Drop in Time's Square in New York. But it seems that the Philippines is waay overlooked. Thank you Trifate for bringing your videos of how we Filipinos hail in the New Year and spreading it throughout the world.

@x_x_nottrixerbg hmmm. Correction. Fireworks are NOT banned. They're just regulated as to which may be used and which may not be used. There is no total ban on the sale or use of fireworks in many parts of the Philippines. However, there are specific firecrackers that ARE strictly banned from public use since the caliber of the gunpowder present makes them almost similar to dynamite. And yet there are still a number of unscrupulous people who still commission and set off such firecrackers, that when these things explode you'd mistake it for a terrorist attack. But, as many videos show, we Filipinos still set off firecrackers and fireworks to greet the New Year. Although there is one city in the Philippines where there is an absolute ban on fireworks. Davao City in southeastern Mindanao does this. Due that it is in Mindanao where there is the possibility of Islamic extremists who might use the gunpowder in fireworks to improvise bombs along with other ingredients to make IEDs, Davao doesn't fo fireworks during New Year.

This already mellowed down, every year become tamed. I remember in the 80s when I was a kid. It was really a warzone event I couldn't go out of the house, my parents wouldn't allow me for safety reason. The fireworks and firecrackers were insane, so loud that your eardrum could explode. It started in the afternoon of 31st of December and it's getting wild and crazy at night until midnight to new year. After that so many people were injured, there were death toll and even some house get fire and burned. Thank god, it is lesser now. Happy New Year, still amazing to celebrate New Year in the Philippines. 🎉

New Year’s Eve celebration in the Phil is not just the fireworks, It’s the gathering of families to celebrate together with so much festive foods, it’s a reunion of families and the firecrackers are just one of the many forms of celebration, It’s making NOISE, even banging of pots or horns for kids, that’s the Filipino celebration. No one sleeps till a few hours after twelve midnight. the late 80s is insane, i would go out the next morning and it's still like zero visibility cos of the thick smoke and the paper that came from the firecrackers they would totally cover the concrete road - all u can see is brown paper. then people would sweep them and create mini mounds to clear the road again. back then nobody cares about what the smoke or noise would do to the environment, or the effect of them in people's health, everyone's just enjoying the night.
