Philippines Paragliding Oslob Cebu island

Paragliding a new site in the Philippines on Cebu island in the town of Oslob 3 hours south of Cebu city . Cool! I see that you folks apply half-brakes most of the time. I am familiar with it as we perform a similar control with skydiving canopies for a flatter flight / glide (actually, we pull down the rear risers as it performs better than using the brakes) especially when we get the urge to do cross-country under canopy (hop and pop at around 12,000' AGL and way out upwind from the DZ). I had flown as small as a zippy 97 sq ft high-performance elliptical canopy (jokingly referred to as a handkerchief 😁). I haven't jumped for many years so I'm thinking of recertifying before my arrival there later this year. However, when I was there with my gear in the late '90s, I found out that there were no regular commercial DZs per se like in the US but only one up in Batangas and it was basically a privately-owned airstrip in a beautiful sprawling location with a grass runway and a very nice clubhouse. The local civvy skydivers usually hook up with military personnel to get some jumps in. That said, perhaps I should get a paragliding certification as well and get my fix that way now that I know of the Oslob facility. Hopefully, there are more. I think I will adapt to a PG canopy fairly quick since I have around a thousand jumps / canopy time. Thanks for sharing your beautiful flight.

Definitely you should try it. There are few other places in Luzon and Mindanao where you can do Paragliding .

yes i had my own equipment , i am not sure if there is any place for hang gliding in Philippines the places i have been and know definitely no hang gliding, will ask around and let you know if there is mate
