Thank you Rod for sharing an interesting project. Sad to see long-range services been dismantled. Had the pleasure of meeting Pat and visiting his Hurdy-Gurdy museum

Hi Rod. A very interesting radio, this one. You can always count on Philips to find the most difficult and temperamental mechanical arrangement for any situation! My (limited) experience is that they are well engineered electronically though, so if you can sort the bizarre mechanisms they are beautiful radios. Thanks for an enjoyable video!

Hi Rod. That is a superb radio and the overall sound should be very decent. As far as the tuning pulleys are concerned, maybe using rubber o rings to gain better traction could prove to be an easy solution. Looking forward to the next video. As always another enjoyable video. Cheers Chris.

I tried o rings but the inner and outer diameters are super criticalso unfortunately none of my o ring kit sizes suit, but thanks for the tip anyway.

Luckily I was able to remove the flywheel without disturbing the complicated string arrangement.

They used the high-impedence speakers to avoid use of output transformers. Whether for improved sound or lower cost, I don't know.
