If I was to spend the money on this I would just go with twinkly. There's really no reason to pick hue over twinkly for somthing that will be used once a year.

I have the Festavia lights and overall I am disappointed with them. The lighting effects are very limited and it is so odd that an indoor product is supplied with an outdoor 40W power supply. My hunch is that they were intended to be rated for outdoor use but for some reason Philips Hue changed their minds about that. Perhaps they failed the waterproof tests? I hope that the Festavia gets more effects soon with a software update but in the meantime Twinkly LEDs are far more capable and have very impressive animations, so I will be sticking with them for outdoor lighting.

I get so confused by just america talking in feet. You said 65 feet (20 metres), why would not not used the 8 metre Festavia string for a Christmas tree?. Especially, considering the huge cost difference between the 8 and 20 metre lengths.

Will Twinkly give the same sparkle slow effects like the hue does? I really just want it to slow sparkle like the Rockefeller tree does. Small twinkle here and there. Hard to find anyone who has tried to recreate it. I think that is the best part of the tree. I have all hue in the house and one Govee rope.

Thx. A big pass on these. Crazy expensive ($160 for 65 feet) and for folks who have a a bigger and/or taller tree than yours or who like lots of lights so ornaments can be seen it’s just as crazy & limited that you can’t link one or more together. For me, I could care less that you can sync them to music

Another product developed by hue for europe by europeans that live in comparatively tiny homes/apartments etc. Buyers in US include well-to-do single or childless families living in small apartments that have skinny 6ft trees which is to say a very limited market. They 100% need way more lights per string for wider and taller trees for US homes in suburbs of which there are many potential buyers. The high cost is a problem, but they are unique in how they function so I'll take it if only it would cover the trees most people get like normal lights. Also they sold out in two seconds like everything hue so it's moot point on whether you're going to buy them or not this year anyway. Next year I might buy them if they make a better version with more lights. Until they do I'll pass even though I have over 100 hue lights in my house and three bridges. Frustrating that hue is allergic to selling its expensive products to a large percentage of consumers in the US. Just a faster bridge, that isn't still underpowered as of a decade ago garbage, would be nice Trying to explain why hue is better to friends that buy cheap wifi bulbs is difficult when you show how many bridges you have to hardwire in all over your house.

@@Justin_tech I'm upset they haven't come up with Christmas lights sooner. I won't be able to use them for years now as I have a nice and expensive setup. Also they need a bridge that supports more than 50 items, that would be nice too. Fish tank lights are expensive and basic, Id like to see hue reach into that market

This is so true, but nobody else has nearly as big of a platform/ecosystem that they do. Lots of flexibility using Hue assuming you don't have the standards(and time/patience) of someone that builds their own dedicated home automation server. It is frustrating.

@brent066511 ай бұрын
The 8 metre has 100 LEDs, 20 metre has 250 LEDs and the 40 metre has 500 LEDs. It's kinda odd I thought that he used 20 metres of string for this video on a 180cm (6') tree, rather than a 8 metre. Especially considering how expensive they are.
