This is one of the best hue implementations I've seen. I had this going on my rig a while back, and it's so awesome when it's working right takes a lot of patience to configure but it's worth it! I dismantled it when I built the new setup but have wanted to get my hues to play bars going again; you have motivated me to do something similar, like a ceiling mount.

Thank you so much. Yeah it took me a while to get it organized the way you see it today. It started getting better when I got more lights and started orienting them in the same exact angle as the screens. If you noticed all the lights in the box have that triple screen angled setup. I really like the lights it's one of my favorite features of my rig I hope that you get back into it and you enjoy it also.

Sorry my game's not working at the moment for some reason. I'll have to delete it and redownload it but it's somewhere in the menus. Just type it in on Google and I'm sure the answer will arrive immediately!

Hi brother! Great rig/work and excellent explanation / analysis of the App / lights / construction. Excellent idea the black box above yr head! Simply elegant without having 3D printed long parts make yr rig ugly. The box is aesthetically perfect! Whats the dimensions of the box and how far above yr head is that thing hanged? Thanks a lot
@DaSimSimma10 ай бұрын
I will attempt to measure soon, but to respond to this quickly, I'll say that it's somewhere around 4 ft by 2 and 1/2 ft and it's hanging at a height of a round 7 ft. When I'm seated it is much higher. Obviously I'm 6 ft three so when I walk under it it doesn't come close to touching my head

How many light bars are in the box? What is on the bottom of the box, plexiglass?
@DaSimSimma2 ай бұрын
@@LarryMcDonald08 5 lights and the bottom is made of a plastic lens from home Depot . It's the lenses they make for drop ceilings

Wow!!!! Never seen a light box !! Coul you share a little more details ? Please 🙏. Also did you use only hue play bars? Or some bulbs also ?

Oh my God I'm such a horrible KZbinr. You won't believe me if I tell you that I filmed for hours on end as we were making this light box from scratch in my buddies woodshop. Unfortunately I kind of sourd on KZbin and moved my operation to twitch so I deleted all the footage so now I can't share anything hahaha . It's just a simple wooden box made out of plywood with a lens that we bought at Menards that lens usually goes on light boxes for drop ceilings in basements. That's the simplest way I can explain it. There's nothing fancy to it. The way the play bars are attached onto it is because each play bar has two screw holes. So we drilled through the box and then we fed really long skinny screws until we trapped each playbar. I really hope this makes sense I'm so sorry I got back to you so late I suck. You can join us on twitch if you want to see some silliness and just have fun

Hey brother what size wood grain steering wheel do you have looks smaller then 14in. Cheers my man stay stony 🌿💨💨

I am not home to measure it but I’m pretty sure it’s a 13 1/2 or 14. I am 99% sure it’s a 14. Most of these would wheels are pretty large, but this bad boy is average size at 14. That’s what she said. ….

is there a build vid on this?
@DaSimSimma10 ай бұрын
I knew this question would come one day and I would regret my actions. I shot hours upon hours of video for this and intended to make a beautiful build video. But honestly, I kind of had enough of KZbin at that point and deleted all the footage and decided to just have fun and enjoy my setup. Now, looking back and reading your question, I have a bit of regret and I wish I would have saved it and made the stupid video. Sorry for the long answer but that's actually what happened and you triggered a memory...lol

what's the point.... unless it shows flags or rpms lights or anything that's useful. Logtech keyboard and mouse LED does that. Can it integrate with Simhub or telemetry?
@DaSimSimma Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure you understood the concept. It's not just RGB random colors the colors in the lights change based on the colors on the screen. The point is in a full dark room you get intensely immersed as I describe in the video it feels like the colors in the images from the screen grow outside of the screen and continue in your room. I guess that's the point
@LarryMcDonald08Ай бұрын
@@bsmracing6592 I seen his point as it helped him gain immersion. I am with you about the flags, rpm lights,etc… however, I know many are are more wanting on road courses to keep that “true” light aspect when they have a roof over the rig which naturally makes it better. And I could see it even more helpful in American Truck Simulator. I appreciate just having the opportunity to see different uses, settings, and creativity from ppl who can think outside of the box to bring a thought to fruition.
