I remember these,great machines.There was also one that didn't have the built - in amp or recording. I still have the later N2408 version,using small DC motors. If I recall right, the N2401 used AC motors. Good stuff :-) Happy days.

I assume it has a mono record/play head as it has 1 analog VU meter for recording only 🙁 (if it isn’t stereo? as you can only play cassettes recorded on this, and not on stereo recorders - will sound weird as only 1 channel). As he switched it on with the volume knob = has a built-in amplifier to direct output to speakers and has aux inputs for record player/radio. The only modification I would do to it is re-wire the meter so it would work with playback/record 😀

Thanks for this awesome video. Wish I had a cassette changer like this. Out of interest, would it have been possible to have connected this up to a Philips turntable? I had an old 1960s/1970s one years ago which had "Tape" and "Radio" buttons on it. Would this sort of cassette player have worked with it do you think?
@riverhuntingdon66596 жыл бұрын
Definately. The record player would've had one of those old plug-in headshells, such as the GP205 for example. You'd plug it into to 5 pin DIN socket marked PHONO. You should also find it'd work with a radio of the period. So long as the output from either device wasn't too high, you could record from it.
