It took me some time to finally find a good video on Oneblade! Thanks for showing the 10mm cut. I think the Oneblade will be great for me, I have shorter and less dense beard. And as you mentioned, it should be very easy to fade my beard with Oneblade, as I always ask for a fade when getting a haircut

Thank you very much! I am glad you found value in the video and especially that my video has something that others don't. Based on your description, I think this could be a good purchase. I have recently made a comparison video between the OneBladePro and the Braun X model; it might be worth watching if you can consider being limited to a maximum of 5 mm trim length. However, if you want a 10 mm trim length, the OneBlade is probably more suitable. Good luck! And thanks again for the compliment! /Philip

@@MacrisMaQ I’m sorry for the 'translation,' I was typing on my phone and forgot to switch to the English keyboard, so everything came out wrong. I then quickly used Google Translate to translate my Swedish text. Typing on my phone is something I usually avoid; I'm more of a person who calls people to ask how they’re doing. Maybe it’s old-fashioned, but there’s usually no room for misunderstandings that way. PS: There’s no right or wrong in this, I could just as easily be wrong in my videos. I've been looking for a good body groomer and Phillips always makes top for the list. Did the research and I like the Oneblade concept. But I found the 5000 series to have a better option ie: handle extension to reach the back. I like this Oneblade and the adjustment length attachment rather than attaching different comb guards. But I don't need a blade for the face so I went with the 5000 instead. Maybe Phillips can look at creating a handle to reach the back.
@Philip.315
@Philip.315 11 ай бұрын
I completely agree with you about Philips' models being top brands in groomes and trimmer industri, and that the 5000 model has better accessories. However, what I didn't like was that the seller wasn't sure about the availability of spare parts for it. Also, I found the length and shape less ergonomic compared to my old model. I've since noticed that the 5000 model has an extension part. Who knows, maybe I'll purchase one and make a video about it. I'll send a link along so you can see how the extender looks. @Philip.315 maybe the Oneblade model can get an extension handle designed for it. I'm not sure, but I think the 5000 series is the only one with that feature. I wonder why the company didn't think about giving the Oneblade model that feature? Parts availability?

Thanks for the feedback. I can agree that it is not entirely precise or effective for the face. However, I have experienced a few times now with both Philips and Braun that my skin gets easily irritated on the neck, and this irritation disappears when I use the 0 mm guard./ Philip

I am currently using the ConairMAN Super Stubble. I’ve had for 6 years and it’s time for a new one. I’ve tried many trimmers and can’t seem to find one that works best for my needs. I prefer easy length adjustments (no guard add-ons) and a powerful motor. One front runner is the Brio BeardScape Beard Trimmer v2 with the zero blade add-on. Pricey but may work for my needs. Would the Philips OneBlade Pro be a good choice to maintain 1-2mm stubble and lineups of cheeks/neck? A huge negative is having to buy replacement blades.
@Philip.315
@Philip.315 2 ай бұрын
Hi @Adamas11! I totally get where you're coming from. It's tough to switch after using a product for so long. The Brio BeardScape v2 looks great with its powerful motor and adjustments, but it is quite pricey. If you're focused on short beard trimming, I'd recommend the Braun Pro Beard Trimmer Series 9 as a cheaper option. I’ve been really happy with it. If you're considering the Philips OneBlade, remember that the blade replacements add up over time. Personally, I use the Braun Pro BT Series 9 alongside the Braun X BT5200. If you find a good deal, you could save $60-90 compared to the Brio (take the numbers with a grain of salt). I’m curious, though-what makes the Brio so expensive? Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions. Good luck! /Philip

@@Philip.315 I just watched your video on the Braun Pro Beard Trimmer Series 9. Very informative review. I may have to try that one. The US version is All-in-One/13-in-1 which is overkill in my opinion, but worth a shot. I am not sure what makes the Brio BeardScape so expensive. It seems very well built and has a powerful, variable speed motor with 240 minutes of trim time. It has a built-in micro-adjuster that allows you to set the blade to 1mm (the lowest setting), 1.3mm, 1.6mm, or 1.9mm. That would suite my stubble length ranges (can also use the 1mm/2mm guard). For lineups of cheeks and neck, I’d have to buy the zero blade (0.2mm add-on). If I can a good sales can get the trimmer, zero blade and case for about $120. 🤔 this one may be worth a shot as well…
@Philip.315
@Philip.315 2 ай бұрын
@@Adamas11 Wow, then you've found better prices than me, then the numbers I sent you don't apply. I found here from Sweden a page that had a sale on the Brio V2 for around 230 dollars. But it feels like you are determined on which lengths you want to use, it has better precision than Braun if you start from the numbers you use. But I might be willing to try it in the future if I manage to find a good deal for around $120 :)

Phillips says that you should NOT use the Bodygroomer on your face. Is it not the case? Or you can use the trimmer side on your beard as opposed of the shaver side?

Now it's been a while, I made the video. But I want to remember that I used it on my neck (but i can be wrong). Recommendations are always good to follow, but I think maybe there is no such thing as right and wrong, as long as you get the result you want. I have seen people use shaving foam in combination with the trimmer. I will try it to see if it can be a more "softer" and closer shaving. I think that with the Philips oneblade, you can get a decent shaven look, but it doesn't feel like a clean-shaven. Not sure if I answered your question or made you more confused. You more than welcome to ask me new questions. regards/Philip

I just ordered one of these and had a question. I have a beard that’s a little longer and want to keep it that way but give it a light trim. Do I set the gauge to 10 or down to 0.4 to keep it longer? I don’t want to put the wrong number and end up shaving off my entire beard.

@ Thanks for the response. I actually have to return my unit to Amazon to get a new one because it’s defective. The shaver isn’t charging. I put it to charge yesterday afternoon and the highest it went to was 44% and I checked this morning and the unit is at 7%, almost dead. Also I noticed when plugged in the unit is still turning on which it shouldn’t so something is wrong with the actual unit or charger they sent with it. Either way, a bit of a hassle but hopefully my new one I won’t have any issues with it.

I've found that the blades don't set into the body of the shaver easily and the tiny plastic inserts break far too easily. Also, the instruction sheet font size is so tiny, you'll literally require a magnifying glass to read it. Lastly, replacement blades are hard to find - my local CVS store didn't carry any and they're pretty expensive for the little that you get.

You should do a video with your average beard routine! I'd like to see that! MAybe I can learn something. I wear a pretty similiar beard to you and I've seen in other videos that you're also using the DE safety razor for detailining and such. So maybe that would be a video idea, that you just show your normal average beard routine, whilst using the tools that you actually use instead of showcasing a product for this video then. Cheers! :)

Hi there! I started working on a video that was meant to show how to go about shaving, like a beginner’s video, where I demonstrate a bit of how I do it. @@Philip.315 Hi Philip, I really hope things start turning around for you and you have support to get you out of the dark place you are in. Wishing you all of the best. Thank you for your video, I am not a guy but am trying to figure out if the OneBlade would be worthwhile to make my own shaving a bit easier /quicker. I appreciate how thorough you are. I do like the feel of a close shave with a razor but sometimes end up nicking myself, esp when I'm in a hurry, also at times get ingrown hairs from shaving but not enough to warrant having to find an alternative. The marketing makes this look like it may be worthwhile. Years ago I tried an electric razor but was sorely disappointed as I found my skin was irritated afterwards and the sharpness of the hair also irritated my skin, was hoping that even though this isn't a really close shave at least the hair would be much smoother to make it feel more comfortable.

Is a shame that you had issues with your 7000 series model. I have two for a long time now and both works just fine. It can happen to any of this kind of devices. Now, don’t tell me the one blade pro is better than the 7000 . The 7000 is much more solid, ergonomic better built for the purpose ( body shaving), thanks to the shape of the head .
@Philip.315
@Philip.315 2 ай бұрын
I don’t think I said it that way. In fact, I misspoke in the video when I mentioned the 7000 model-it’s actually the BG7025 model I’m holding in my hand. I do think the Philips 7000 model, or the 'All-in-One,' is a stronger device than the OneBlade and comes with a lot more accessories. However, when it comes to lighter shaving and trimming, I find the OneBlade more convenient to work with compared to the 7000 model. That being said, there’s no right or wrong here-it all comes down to personal preference. If the 7000 model (not the BG7025) had a better click system and more ergonomic design, it would definitely be my top choice. Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion. /Philip

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I've owned the previous version and what I saw in this review is that there's no difference in the trims and shaves. This product is basically meant for high school kids whom have light beards.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your perspective. I also found that this trimmer is best suited for those with shorter or lighter beards. In my review, I gave it a rating of 3 to 3.5 out of 5 because, while it works well for trimming/shaving my neck and upper cheeks, it may not be ideal for those with thicker beards. However, I don't entirely agree that it is only suitable for high school kids. I hope you found some value in the video or at least found it entertaining. Have a great day! /Philip
