Philips PM3295 oscilloscope 2ch 350MHz 1987 test teardown

I picked a non working PM3295 for £0.01p on ebay a little while back. Its on my (extensive) list of projects, so your video is a great help in showing how to access the PSU etc. Thanks for taking the time to do the tear down. A couple of other analog scopes have "followed me home" over the years. They are generally reasonably easy to repair, and very useful once they are working. Analog scopes are sometimes much better for trouble shooting than digital ones.

thanks for your comment, and wow what a score, only problem is shipment, unless seller is a local ? I live in Denmark and find it impossible to find local sellers on ebay.

My guess for the duplication of the info on the screen. Would be for taking pictures of the waveform with settings info.

I wonder if the dangling terminal strip at ca. 25:00 is original - strange, if so…

the main power go via this IDC connector, but it is really a lot of wires in parallel pr power line, so it is ok

@@inse001 that is the broken / missing power switch bypass, it is explained later in the video, I also repair this, add a new switch and all

I love thoses scopes but i'm terrified by thoses specifics chip and specialised circuits. When they will be out of order, how i'll can fix them ?

the custom chips was out of order allready when the scope was sold, no normal person could purchase the spare parts..

I goto auctions, fleamarkeds, online sale, facebook groups, and all my regular Sponsors / Traders / Swappers / Sellers / Buyers, without their support and constant flow of cool items in/out, none of this would be possible.
