Hi, nice work, this is one of the devices we can say - after removing the cover, there is no room for air, only parts and parts. They have beautifully made, clearly marked, long connecting cables - good for repairs. I like the auxiliary display, but alas, such an oscilloscope is too deep for my workplace. Nice day 🙂 Tom

Metrix also made hybrid oscilloscopes for a while which were based on Philips reference designs. They're certainly easier to use than the Philips ones.

Is the auto set button working? With my scope pm3070, when I push the auto set, and give a signal on A or B, the settings go to 10mV and 10uS

you need to input a repeating signal of at least 100mVpp, for the auto set to work

I just use film mkt and the ntc is not super critical, I just took a similar size, they are often the same cold and hot resistance

Hey there, i have the same issue with my pm3357 it have exact the same power supply and the same problem, the rifa cap look demaged, i have thinking about capacitors replacement but when i have measure them everything look ok and then i found your video, can You send me the resistors values that You used for load the PSU? Have You replaced that rifa cap and opto...? I don't see good resistor codes because of the light on video if i'm on the right way there are 1k , 2k, 211 ohm?

it was quite easy for me to search for the service manual, here you find all component values and type numbers, no need to guess, most of the models uses the same power supply and other details, incase you cant find the correct one.

@@TeardownOZ2CPU i will replace all the caps over the psu and i will look at that opto as well. I'm thinking that old dryed caps can be main problem. That axial old caps are not the best, maybe in old times they was but now... I need to replace one potentiometer to or just drill it and glue extander in because its broken.

I've got two whining PM3335 scopes, yours was making that noise because of an open circuit and the SMPSU was going into protection? It wasn't clear to me the solution, did you leave those PSU loading resistors in place?
