hello, i have a philips VR 6443 model. the rr and ff is very slow, like its struggling then it stops. when I press play the tape gets half way but then stops before reaching the head drum. Why is this happening? thanks

This can have many causes, hard to tell without seeing the unit working.

that was only the suppression capacitor. The vcr works without it. i order a new one. This type of capacitor always bursts in my old devices if they have not yet been replaced. And now my apartment stinks again 😞😂

Those RIFA capacitors are nasty, all old electronics with those capacitors should be swapped as they'll explode sooner or later.
