If I remember correctly, Dave Bickers competed at the Trans-Am race in Tulsa, Oklahoma which I attended in 1971. Shortly afterward I purchased a CZ 250 MX, which quickly proved to me that I would never be a motocrosser. But I loved that bike.

@@JackF99 If thats so, It has to be on the crank. Then you multiply that with 0,85 and you get around 33rwhp. And before you wanna play smartass and comment on this.. I work with dynos all day long.

Early 70's friends had a Rickman/Zundap 125cc. A beautiful machine. Xtream light weight. Magnificent craftsmanship.

Mind-officially-BLOWN🤯. I had no idea they had gates of so many riders in the 50’s!! Amazing! I wish the tracks had remained predominantly natural in motocross, instead of the gladiatorial circus show we are developing it into today….

I couldn’t agree more …….something Missing from the sport ever since. Fans used to like the high speed bar banging action…..the supercorss stuff really is boring to watch after a few minutes and is one of the reasons of its decline imho

!957? I thought I saw a Greeves 24MCS which, I'm not mistaken' was introduced in 1960. I bought one in 1961 and a 24MDS in 1962 and a Greeves Challenger in 1965/66 which just about banckupted me with gearbox repairs.

@@toptiertyson1456 There's a YT video floating around from a guy wearing a helmet cam on a electric dirt bike in a race amongst 450's. Granted it seemed he was a better rider but was done and back at his truck before the rest crossed the finish.

@@treskilion-9690 One thing you dont get in that film is the steep ness of some of those hills and the length of the track and the fact those big old goldies an the like were flat out along that Half mile straight also those hills were covered in large flints ready to have you off in an instant what i would say to any one who would like to see that area today is head to the top Butser hill the highest hill in Hampshire then drive down or walk down harvesting lane taking in the view over the wonderderful downland to the left and realising how lucky the riders were in those days to have the chance to ride across this magnificent landscape .

A fair amount of those WERE 2 stokes..Bickers and Stonebridge and the winner were all on Greeves..

I saw mostly Greeves with a few other 2ts thrown in. Did hear a four stroke in the fray, could've been maybe a cub or two? Too early for the BSA C15 or Matchless G2s.

I have 3 CZ bikes ! One was sitting for almost 15 years and started first kick after minimal maitenance and gas draining. Amazing bikes !!

@@worldsnextsupercar4362 I had a '73 250, I believe. Weird thing is, I don't recall where it came from. Raced it at Carlsbad once, then ended up with new '77 RM250. I remember watching CZ supported riders practicing starts at Rawhide Raceway without using the clutch. My Montesa VR would have spit the gearbox on the ground. Wonder if Bert's is still around in LA Puenta, he used to spend time at the factory, then bring a bunch back. Miss the old days.

Nope, Bickers had Greeves in the rear view mirror, was on CZs in the '60s. I saw many iron cylinders on those bikes, signs of older units than those that were produced later on.
